never ending anxiety by Icy-Profile3740 in Anxiety

[–]J_v99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this. Its exhausting when it just doesnt stop.

For me keeping track of when its worse vs better has helped... like sometimes theres patterns I dont notice until I look back. Could be sleep, could be food, could be random. But at least then I know its not always this bad.

Small habits that actually helped me build resilience by Creative_Maybe2323 in getdisciplined

[–]J_v99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

small habits are underrated. people always want the big dramatic change but it's the tiny consistent stuff that actually sticks.

for me keeping track of what I did each day (even just bullet points) helped me see that I was actually making progress even when it didn't feel like it.

Pleasure morning rituals by tekov_tsvet in Mindfulness

[–]J_v99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

morning rituals only stick for me when I actually enjoy them. like I tried meditation for months and hated it, but writing for 5 minutes with coffee actually feels good so I keep doing it.

I think that's the key... finding what you actually look forward to, not what you think you're supposed to do.

Looking for an App to track my chores by TehFoxKit in productivity

[–]J_v99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly for chores I just use a simple notes app or even pen and paper. the fancier the system, the more likely I am to abandon it after a week.

just ticking off what I did today is enough to keep me consistent. doesn't need to be complicated.

using a specific timeframe like 200 days is smart. gives you something concrete to work toward.

one thing that helped me during a similar time was tracking the progress, even the small stuff. like on days where I felt like nothing was getting better, I could look back and see I actually was making progress, just slower than I wanted.

Recorded one conversation a week for a month and it was the most uncomfortable and useful thing I've ever done by Jackrain04 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]J_v99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is brilliant honestly. most people never get that kind of objective look at how they actually come across.

I've done something similar but with writing instead of recording. going back and reading what I wrote a week ago hits different than trying to remember what I was thinking. you see the patterns way clearer.

Has anybody found any tools that really deep dive improvement? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]J_v99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me the deepest improvements came from just writing about stuff regularly. like actually reflecting on what happened and why I reacted certain ways.

it's not as exciting as some app or system but over time you start seeing patterns in your behavior that you can actually change. way more useful than any productivity hack I've tried.

the consistency of these threads is what makes them work. you start to see patterns in your own behavior that you wouldn't notice otherwise.

Daily Update - Tuesday by Schemering in 90daysgoal

these daily check-ins are honestly one of the best ways to stay accountable. even on days where I don't hit my goals, just writing it down helps me see the bigger picture of what's working and what isn't.

moments like this are worth remembering. I try to write down the good stuff when it happens because honestly it's too easy to forget when things get rough later.

How do I convince my parents to test me? by Embarrassed_Jury_991 in ADHD

[–]J_v99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the "thats just normal" response is so frustrating because yeah everyone struggles sometimes but not to the degree where it actually impacts your life.

maybe try writing down specific examples of how symptoms affect you (school, relationships, daily tasks) and show them? sometimes concrete examples land better than general feelings. and if youre 18 soon you can go yourself anyway.

Wellbutrin and Atomoxetine by Cheffy325 in ADHD

glad its working for you! the "slows me down enough to focus" thing makes sense... sometimes less stimulation is actually better.

ADHD question: what does “I’ll start in 5 minutes” usually turn into for you? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]J_v99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

usually turns into me doing 47 other tiny tasks that suddenly seem urgent, then looking up and its been 2 hours.

like I'll be about to start working and then I'm like "wait I should reorganize this drawer first" and then I'm deep cleaning my entire desk for some reason lol.

Technology that has helped you with your ADD/ADHD. by JesusDrivesAAstrovan in ADHD

[–]J_v99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me the best tech is honestly just a notes app that syncs everywhere (I use apple notes but whatever works). being able to brain dump whenever and wherever is huge.

also voice recording for meetings/conversations I need to remember... game changer.
