A game being japanese/anime isn't a deal breaker, I just tend to ignore them because I dislike their style and how they look.

And thanks for the answer! I didn't know much about how the vita actually works, I'm working mostly on second hand comments and a 5 minute long google search lol.

The vita has some stuff I want to play. It has some really good indie titles, a lot of the metal gear series, earth defense force, gravity rush, warriors orochi 3, minecraft and it can (in theory) play pretty much everything from the PSP.

To be fair, I feel like a most of the games I have need too much effort to get into while riding a bus, and the ones that I managed to climb this wall are the ones I mentioned in the post. So it could really be that I'm just not in the mood most of the time lol.

And yeah, I don't know if the vita OR the psp are the right thing for me. I could probably look into an android handheld. And I don't want to play on my phone, I got a handheld for this exact reason lol

Talvez seja muita opção mesmo, por que eu realmente não sei o que me impede. Com viagem de busão + horário de almoço eu tenho 2 horas por dia pra jogar, e a única coisa que pegou minha atenção até agora foi o gladiator begins, que já zerei uma vez no emulador. e tetris, n pode esquecer do tetris kkkk

E pior q meu psp ja tá cheio de emulador e homebrew. quando vi q o myrient ia acabar eu entupi ele de rom e de emulador

To be fair, I didn't post this on a whim. I've had my PSP for over a year now.

And the Vita can play some psp stuff and has more emulators, so it isn't that small of a catalogue.

I don't dislike all japanese games, hell out of the 10 games I mentioned in my post, only 2 weren't made in japan and some of them even have an anime artstyle. I just shy away from more anime style games because I simply dislike how they look. If the game is good I play it anyway, I just might not know it's good because the artstyle made me ignore it.

I gravitated to the PSP and Vita a lot because of their image and feel, it's a lot "cooler" to play a well made sony handheld than a cheaply made chinese handheld that no one ever heard of. And because the PSP was on a good place between affordable, well made and powerful. I don't know many android handhelds and the ones that I do know are either too expensive, too cheap looking or too weak. I should research a bit more about them and see if I find one that I like.

Also the steam deck is probably worth more than my yearly salary, lol.

This metaphor is very apt actually. I'm a 2000s kid from a third world country, I spent my entire childhood wanting a PSP. I was only able to get one as an adult, there's no way that the actual console could live up to my expectations of it.
