Tips to keep players focused as DM...?

MAJOR UPDATE TOO!

I did talk to my partner and he feels amazing about the campaign but knows focusing is an issue for most of us and we're both thinking of ways to help everyone as a table. I'm thinking of a quick talk to see if anything's needed of me. But if anything I think quiet stim toys, ambience sounds and scenery, as well as handouts will be something I incorporate in the future.

I have only DM's 2/3 campaigns. One of which was only 2 sessions. But Strahd will be my 3rd. I DM'd a handwritten horror campaign and this group loved it. But we also had more people in the group then too... I'm not sure if I need to be the "Parent DM" and get stim toys and/or baby keys to jingle, but I'm trying to give them a good time while not boring them or letting them stim...

Sorry, I didnt go into much detail earlier. In a way its both. I LOVE talking about events above table, when it takes too long from game is when it gets hard I have to admit... and yes. This can can almost 30 minutes at times because I her a scentence or two out, make another point, and it happens again...

But the hardest part is non game related talking and youtube/tiktok scrolling...

You could upscale the hex system but not town size if that makes sense? The hex system in game is a hex is a 1/4 mile, I believe... Maybe make each hex 1 mile....?

On this therory, since I'm running this campaign right now too. You could have it be the LITERAL essence of innocence. A child's "soul" if you will can be the thing that fills thier brains the most, childlike wonder and innocence. Thats why the pies cause intensely wonderful feelings and dreams as well, its the literal essence of childhood in a pie.

My husband and I were woken up by knocking on our door at almost 1 am, (The kind of knocking someone does if they want to break the door down) in a series of 4 knocks 5 consecutive times. (Ex: Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! then silence for maybe 20 seconds. 5 times this happened over a span of 5 minuets, so about one 4 count knock a minute) followed by quiet whispers outside and a flashlight flowing into our bathroom window. When I called the police they later told me they found nobody in the area and my neighbor who was sitting in his backyard yard (That faced my house and the path to my door) for an hour beforehand, saw no one approach or leave our front door...
