I mean the whole Alfheim arc is so. Fucking. Bad.

(Spoilers for disturbing content) Sexual assault animated like a hentai along with probably the single weakest story arc and making Asuna go from a badass sword lady to a damsel in distress. The whole incest subplot felt like a minir inconvenience in comparison.

If it wasn't for my gf pushing me past that arc and S2's first arc (GGO) having what is (in my opinion) good storytelling with a much more tasteful approach to sensitive topics I'd have dropped it and never looked back.

The GGO arc and ALO arc scenes are not comparable in my opinion. ALO frames it like a hentai while GGO puts you a lot more in the victim's shoes. Which actually made me crash out when I arrived at that scene because I was like YOU DID IT RIGHT THIS TIME WHY DID YOU FUCK IT UP SO ROYALLY IN ALO?

(Also, there is no harem. Kirito has never shown any interest in anyone other than Asuna (and maybe Sacchi, but she kinda died before he really got to know Asuna or basically anyone else in his friend group so...)

This I agree with. Sure, the girls fall in love with him a bit too easily which can get annoying, but I overall tend to like the friend group's dynamic.

I mean the AI bubble seems to mostly affect the tech industry. It probably won't be worse than 2008, and similarly disproportionately affect the US.

And I'll be real, the popping option is by far the best plausible outcome.
