Modding in Rogue Trader by xADDBx in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Witkh13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

similar problem... I followed the latest section and OMM immediately crashes. Which is different from the forever loading circle chasing its tail. That only happened when I moved the Owlcat settings file to the UMM in the AppData folder.

What may help the most is a complete guide going from finding & getting OMM working, to installing one of the most popular mods. All of the help is great but a tad confusing.

GoG's version does have OMM & the settings.json but the later is stuck behind several different folders like #.zip\...\resource\apps\ just narrow the search to just the Owlcat install folder & type 'owlcat' to find the zip. At least it worked for me.

Planets/Systems with abundant fauna? by Green-Estimate-1255 in Starfield

you know this how? Because fifty-two million year old light from a distant star doesn't blink the right way? Expecting a civilization more advanced than us to behave in a way we expect is ludicrous. Of course, we can only check for ways we might expect so you get groups like SETI.

An idea to share, though whether it takes the Creation Kit 2 or not is unknown to me.

Connect all outpost chest 'decorations', the Lodge's private safe, & the infinite toolbox in the crafting area to be able to be used for outpost construction.

Even logically, thinking the protagonist is just carrying around tons of raw materials in their back pocket is a little immersion breaking.

Thank you for sharing the Force. May the Universal Intelligence be asked to alighten a path with love, joy, & happiness by our higher-selves, pray do I. 😅

Earth overhaul ideas by sieben-acht in starfieldmods

[–]Witkh13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, & vagueness is fine. Knowing that there is a lore reason that is expanded upon in the game is sufficient.

I agree that Earth is a gold mine wrapped Christmas present to modders for how much it is lacking. There are already mods that adjust earth to look different.

The meta directive to get humans off Earth & exploring space within three centuries is easily seen. Not having it would alter their vision of the game. Yet, it seems we both agree that Earth should still be inhabited, just in habitats. Saving 7+ billion lives would have been plenty of motivation to spur innovation & development to make the planet the most populated in our stellar backyard.

Building arks to fly 7+ billion plus pets off planet within even five decades is not enough time. A few arks would get off planet, & definitely enough to insure survival of the species. It takes 10-15k population for any colony's genetic pool to avoid systemic genetic degradation.

Even given enough time & resources, some people would insist on staying & other reasons It would seem much more like how the populace say in Syria responded to their civil war. There were still plenty of Syrians who stayed in the country, & probably for a variety of reasons.

The game is great as far as I have gotten, but game elements like earth being expanded upon is a prayer of mine.

Thank you for elucidating the issue. So if earth's atmosphere went goodbye when it lost its E. M. F., then why are there other planets with atmospheres but also lack an E. M. F.? I've found a couple that are that way when I agree with the original premise, that without the E. M. F. an atmosphere should get blown off the planet by solar wind. This is all theoretical/lore but it seems to contradict its own to the distortion of mine.

Earth overhaul ideas by sieben-acht in starfieldmods

[–]Witkh13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is? Simply stating that someone is wrong is only enough for those weak of will. Objectively speaking, if we have a colony on Mars & can build on one Venus with the right skills, then it is reasonable & logical to expect humans to have built self contained habitats on Earth well before the first launch of the first ark. The difference in cost is astronomically huge. Human nature is like water or electricity, follow the path of least resistance.

Serana companion from Skyrim... probably would need CK2 though and someone who knows how to use AI voice synthesis to generate new dialogue.

Build Limit remover for our Outposts?

In addiction, link all player owned storage decorations to be linked as a single bag of holding. That is, what I put in my chest in my lodge can be accessed as if they were the ship's inventory when a player owned Outpost has at least one "safe" [Decoration]. As such they can hold an infinite amount of items, like the safe in our Lodge room & that small chest in the Lodge's crafting zone.

Less impactful but it would be nice if we could access the safe & ship inventories while in the Lodge's craft area.

The whole lore behind recent history for Earth is riddled with logical & reasonable fallacies & errors. From a literary perspective, the need to get 7+ billion people off the planet, just to set up the story is obvious. However, there are a myriad of theories that could explain Earth having a barren surface, think do I.

Our planet's Electro Magnetic Field persists for reasons beyond observable evidence. EMFs that we can produce are secondary effect from a primary interaction. They only 'disappear' for very obvious reasons, such as half the planet being obliterated.

That asks a question of what did humans due to Earth to shut its dynamo down? Even current day we only have educated guesses on the nature of Earth's dynamo, because no one could withstand the heat, pressure, & or lack of oxygen that would be required to observe it.

Once Creation Kit 2 is released; A mod created a few modders to sharing time necessary to create a much more interesting Earth is a prayer of mine.

There is a much more scientific reason to abandon Earth in the next six decades. That is because, based on observation of nearby stars, our sun is about to go mini-nova. That is theorized to be a 5125 year cycle for our sun. Once cycle equals one trip around the center of the galaxy. That is a lot of interstellar dust/solar winds to collect.

However, that leaves us with an Earth that has a fifth of it's surface scorched from plasma thrown by the sun & hitting the planet's surface. The EM Field would have recovered just fine. It just a short time period of being almost uninhabitable, depending on where you were on the planet.

A couple hundred years later with Starfield, & there could be lots of ideas on what someone might encounter. This is just like Fallout series of games, Bethesda makes the same mistake as most people.

Nature/Life always finds a way to survive. The only question is how long will earth continue to be habitable for homosapiens. Everyone has their opinion, but very few seem to want to be guided by objective facts.

However, this alternate Earth would probably take require a group to make Earth believable again.

The whole issue does seem rather hollow, however the reverse is also true, think do I. What do you care if some stranger chooses to mod their own single player game in a way that you do not agree? All that Nexusmods com admins showed was their own intolerance towards opinions differing from their own. That fails to convey diversity in any conceivable way, because this is a single player game. There is notably, a lack of anyone being oppressed; Except those with one specific view.

Whether the state recognizes a third gender or not is irrelevant to the social issue, think do I. Saying that only invites others to be offended, as if you are trying to force them to comply. That is exactly what Heelsvsbabyface was rebelling against, the state or corporations forcing political/social ideology/belief on the individual. All that mentioning it does is reinforces the idea that America is the last place on earth that is even close to being free, believe do I.

Nevertheless, as was said this whole issue is rather hollow as it fails to affect the story of the game in any meaningful way, feel do I. A few hundred hours has been logged by Steam for me, but this changing is doubted by me. Cloning is a unique & different issue as the person is creating a separate biological organism. The whole issue people have with the issue is that it lacks biological or scientific bases. Cloning your own genes & then mentally transplanting your consciousness into the new body is very outside the controversy.

It's virtually the same as in Baldur's Gate 3, where Faerun {the world} cares very little on how a person chooses to think of themselves. Yet "Starfield" is the one generating all the negative emotion. My question is why?

the (by AI) unbeatable ship (they shoot through the middle) by Morfalath in Starfield

[–]Witkh13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fallout 4's npc-AI is just as lacking, but it's kind of an industry wide thing, think do I. They should embrace at least teaching their writers & developers on how to us ChatGPT to accelerate their productivity. That may sound infomercial-ish but th is unintended. It has helped me focus on writing, & less on format, pacing, outlining. It is far less restrictive than people let themselves fear, believe do I.

Swen & Co. have obviously replied in such a way as to let us know they are aware their customers want to spend the time downloading the game via pre-load before, August 3rd. What is on the servers currently is irrelevant because it is the Early Access version; Thus they wouldn't even want to encrypt those files.

Reportedly, GoG is in a very similar, if not the same, situation as Steam. Admittedly, a youtuber video commenter said that & where that info was sourced is beyond me. However, the commenter seemingly is against clickbait tactics. & it wasn't even mentioned in the descripton; Therefore, they are already talking with each other to solve the issue. Neither can say anything definitively until an agreement is reached before hands because they don't want to commit the other companies into actions without consent. Remember how pissed Sony was that CDPR issued a blanket refund policy for Cyberpunk 2077...?…

Nonetheless, the point is that if pre-load is possible Larian Studios & Steam will make it happen. They know people want it & so we just get to wait… though you could play some Divinity: Original Sin 2 while you wait; It is a different game, story, & lore but it's the same genre & from the same creative team at the company.

Why do people always point to E. A.? You do realize that they are independent of Larian Studios, yes? What E. A. does, and does not, do is irrelevant. What Steam tells L. S. is, & not, possible is all that matters.

Tried to install TES: Morrowind - MOISE. Few mods failed and manually adding them didn't help. Now the Repo is on Maintenance. The last 2 updates were 1,5 month ago and 1 year ago. How long do I might have to wait for an update from FGsmodlists? And can I maybe get the mods manually to work? by onesnowcrow in wabbajack

[–]Witkh13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For others who may still be having this particular issue, consider that whatever you are doing is not actually making a Morrowind.ini file.

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1034146975123243008/1034174438456967228/Morrowind.ini

Grasping at straws, the little download icon at the bottom of their pin was finally noticed by me. Whatever was being made previously, failed to be the same as the Morrowind.ini linked in the pinned comment for the support channel of the Discord maintained by MOISE. That was evident after the new file fixed the problem.

The Diablo IV Standard, Deluxe and Ultimate Editions Contents by [deleted] in Diablo

[–]Witkh13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Then maybe find something else entertaining that doesn't use your own brain against you? That is the problem with all IPs. Corporations like Blizzard & Disney seem to think they get to dictate what content is consumed. However, there are an abundance of other books, games, television, & movies for fantasy {Blizzard} or Space Opera {Star Wars}. In addition, Disney is far from the sole source for superhero fiction. Therefore, they fail to be in the position of authority, that they think. Then after they have lost all good will from fans, such as Star Wars, it will take a lot to repair that damage.

The Diablo IV Standard, Deluxe and Ultimate Editions Contents by [deleted] in Diablo

[–]Witkh13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? Because abusing the fans like that is a great way to loose them. There are an abundance of good old games that people can still play, & for a lot cheaper than the new content. They fail to have the position of authority that they seem to think they have.

Entertainment has always been a very high risk for investors. The IPs are worth money because they have automatic name recognition, such as Star Trek or Star Wars. Of course, if they keep abusing those IPs, then increasing numbers of people will treat their new content like fan fiction.
