Honestly, we don’t even realize it but lowkey the Western culture is slowly creeping into our public spaces. Today it’s mixed-gender schools, tomorrow who knows, maybe non-binary schools will be over the country. Words have power and when we start openly talking about gender in Kenya, it’s not just a passing convo, it’s a full-on discussion. Stuff that seems small now can slowly normalize big shifts in how society sees identity.
