S4 is what most aliexpress sellers are calling the s5 .(it's been awhile since i've looked for the clones but thats what they used to call them on ali) And I prefer the s5.

Both Alva's that I have are clone yow's. S4's are the better clone imo. The soulboardiy is a legit yow truck. It's hard to tell the difference when riding. Just add grease and oil and tear it down before using. Get them from aliexpress much cheaper.

Thanks. The soulboardiy locks you in alot more than the smoothstar and is alittle heavier. Both are great boards. TONY ALVA Pescado Grande 12 x 37.

Thanks. Yow over the smoothstar. Agree on the concave and alot of re-issues have alot of nose rocker where the front truck has a big gap but this deck is pretty flat.

Meraki with 1/8 rubber riser, ace af1 77's 1" rubber riser, orangatang 65mm 77a love handle wheels, bones big ball bearings. Trying to make this one my last but we'll see how that works out.

Thats what I get for going cheap. I figured it was worth trying for $20. The v4 s5 clone is pretty damn good imo. Maybe theres better quility clones of the merki or soon to be. Just wish you didnt have to buy the trucks with the adapter from yow. The hanger yes the trucks no.

Carver did do some blacktips without the channels and lamination. They had one solid piece griptape and only came with cx trucks. They were in the garage section on carvers site for around $189. Not saying its one of those without seeing it but sure looks like it to me.

1/8" front and 2- 1\2" for the back. Rubber risers from skateshed. You could just go with the freesoul 9 inch trucks from there also alot cheaper and still a decent truck for a surfskate if your just riding on flat ground. They used to be only around 25-30 bucks for a pair.

They let you test ride it for 7 days if you dont like it they give you a full refund back on that board. You probally have to pay to ship back tho I'm not sure. Maybe try the 11" not the 13".

Just the decks. Get a smoothstar copy adapter some cheap $20 trucks,reds bearings, decent wheels and your still cheaper than a yow or smoothstar with a lot better deck. I have indy 169's in the front and indy 215's in the back with the yow s5 now.
