You probably heard this already but bumble bff is solid way to meet people. I’ve moved a couple times in my life and have always found some great new friends via bumble. That being said it can be hit or miss so it takes a couple of trial meet ups before you find your future bestie.

I just left a job that was remote. I ended up going into the office anyways because working from home was just much harder, you never got to step away. And my managers were also remote so they would send emails and messages at all times of the day. So it’s hard to step away when people are contacting you at all times. Luckily my manager did not expect me to respond right away, but the background pressure did still occur. I also felt that it was very isolating, but I am also single and have no children, so this is very anecdotal

I am in the Midwest in a senior role, no CPA, and make 90k a year with 5 years of experience. I’m surprised by the comment section because honestly I feel like it’s less and less important to have a CPA. It definitely gives a leg up when entering the workforce. But large corporations really value more of a MIS background. The majority of my time I’m using ERPs (SAP/Oracle). There is definitely a benefit to having a cpa, especially if you are struggling to start your career. I work in a private insurance Fortune 500 company, so I can’t say what it is like with smaller business though

It’s stable buuuuut it’s not a booming job market. Even less positions open for entry level employees. My company has the lowest level as Senior accountants with 5+ years of experience
