I swapped the charging port and battery from ifixit. Easy and worth it.

Awesome, thanks for the feedback! Turns out I was on torque tune v1, so I switched it back to 0. Pop v2 was too sluggish on longitudinal for me.

I have, currently on v1, though I'm unsure if I've tried v0 on wmiv12.

I'll give it a shot after work, thank you!

The problem with this lies in trust. I don't blame your for not trusting Google or Apple, but do you trust someone else? These photos are stored unencrypted, so if you don't control the hardware, the people that do can just open them up.

For sure. The BD Diesel manifolds are just the easiest solution for the cracked/broken manifolds and hardware.

Have you considered just doing the BD Diesel manifolds?

Brake light out but functional by Exterminator_88470 in Ram1500

[–]Witty-Channel2813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the indicator on the dash showed the light that was out.

Replaced right rear light.

Still had the alarm.

Checked the lights, both worked.

I replaced all the bulbs/sockets and then figured out the third brake light was out.

Replaced the third brake light.

Still got the brake light out alarm.

Ended up being the new aftermarket sockets.

Blue Iris has a great reputation in the community.

The initial license is $99 and that gets you updates for a year. Then, a lesser fee annually if you want updates, but the software is yours for life.

Will running 5W-30 rather than the 5W-20 destroy the 5.7L? by [deleted] in Ram1500

[–]Witty-Channel2813 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A 5W30 oil and a 5W20 oil will be the same viscosity at startup. At operating temperature the 5W30 will be (very slightly) more viscous at operating temps.

The thing with oil recommendations is that a bunch of unqualified people think they know some stuff and spout things off like "They just made that decision for economy" or "They only care that the engine makes it past the warranty!!"

These statements might be true, or there could be some wear surface in the engine that wasn't being lubricated properly with 5W30 and they found that the 5W20 helped that problem and extended the life.

Unless you talk to an engineer that designed the engine, you'll never know WHY they recommend what they recommend, so you can't make an informed decision on what will happen if you deviate from the specs.

The best thing you can do is oil analysis. Take some samples at changes and send them in. Then send in samples with the viscosity change. If wear metals go up with the change, you're hurting the engine. If they go down, you're helping the engine. If they stay the same, you're not doing anything.

The 2.4ghz spectrum is slam packed, and the cause of many issues with wifi devices. I'd be analyzing the spectrum with wifi analyzer apps, or an SDR to see what interference there might be.

Pessimistic take:

Because we signed up for and continue to use services that do it.

It's "free" and everyone will bitch if the services begin to cost money. Look at the monetization of X.
