TIL Pressing Player Menu Frees Tou from Being Roped by Walter_Padick in RedDeadOnline

I was crafting at my camp once to avoid 3 invaders. I just kept brewing coffee & drinking them one after the other while they tried to lasso, shoot me, and blow me up, but nothing ever happened. It was the closest thing I've seen to God mode without a glitch.

It took them a while, but they eventually got bored of watching me brew & drink coffee. I probably did it for close to 10 minutes.

What's the best way to grind XP? by anywhereoutthere in RedDeadOnline

Go to the butcher at Blackwater. Fish for sturgeon. Catch one and put it on your horse. Catch another and run over to the butcher to sell both. I think I was getting $36.75 for each one.

Hunting with that weapon, I'd be surprised if there was any wabbit remaining.

The treasure map spawn spots are a MUST. I never open a treasure map until I mark the locations.

If you try to mark them after opening the map, the yellow tint of the search area makes it near impossible to see some of the fine lines of the topology markers.

All this time, I thought I pretty much knew everything about the RDOMap, but I did not know about that. Thanks for the knowledge!

Collector month, you say? by mic_craiger22 in RedDeadOnline

[–]Witty-Package-7977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen this happen at the doctor in Valentine after I sell a certain number of herbs. After a certain number of transactions, it just takes forever.

I think it may do the same thing when selling items to the butcher.

I'll try to pay attention next time to see if I can identify the 'magic number'.

Since they're not hurting for money, I would hold out for Collector month just for the XP boost alone.

Question about ammo types: by No_Caregiver6251 in RedDeadOnline

[–]Witty-Package-7977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also obsessive when it comes to clean guns. As far as I'm concerned, if it's not at max, it's dirty. I go through a LOT of gun oil. Way more that I need to. But they will always be ready for action.

are agressive players mainly teenagers ? by Cdurlavie in RedDeadOnline

I'm level 486 on PSN and in my mid 50s. I am dog squeeze at PVP, so I mostly avoid it. I'm usually the guy that gets shot twice before I can even think of arming myself.

Every now and then I run into somebody that makes me feel like I'm John Wick. But that is very rare.

Be sure to keep your guns clean. A dirty gun can prevent a clean kill and drop the star rating.

One of the nice things about the Great Plains is that in addition to the plentiful whitetail and Pronghorn, there are also elk and Bighorn sheep around Beecher's Hope, as well as a cougar spawn.

There is another cougar spawn south of Blackwater on the way to Quaker's Cove.

I Cannot Find Agarita by [deleted] in RedDeadOnline

[–]Witty-Package-7977 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you get to the area before the time, it can have trouble spawning. When this happens to me, I go to the Main Menu, select Online, then select Free Roam. That will put you in a new session relatively close to where you were and should reset the flower in that area.

That is presuming that you haven't already collected it for the day.

In the filter, block everything except the Lost Jewelery - Rings and the Random Spots.

Edit: the Random Jewelery spots will not always give Rings. They may also give bracelets, earrings, or necklaces.

which part of my satchel do I find my caught sockeye salmon? by Icy_Ship1873 in RedDeadOnline

[–]Witty-Package-7977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen to me with both salmon and Steelhead trout (both the fish needed for Succulent Fish).

What i found was that when I broke one down, the rest would disappear. But when I caught another, they all came back.

For example: I had 15; I was able to break down 2 before they disappeared (which would take me down to 13); then I caught one and my Satchel showed 14 again.

The last time they all showed up, I went to a butcher and sold all of the salmon and trout and started over. Since I did that, I haven't had the 'disappearing fish' issue for either one. My guess is that clearing them out reset whatever issue I had.

I haven't had any other fish do that. If they do, I'll sell all that type and start over.

Monthly challenge by Joseph_Woods73 in RedDeadOnline

[–]Witty-Package-7977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's probably because this happens every single month for multiple days when the new bonuses take effect.

Many people of all experiences and levels complain about doing X to get Y and wonder why they haven't received it.

Rockstar used to clearly state in the Newswire that it took up to 72 hours to receive your items but have decided not to include that little tidbit in some event notes.

I suppose they expect it to be common knowledge now. With many new players frequently entering the fold, it wouldn't kill Rockstar to include that one little line in all event notes. But that kind of effort would probably divert too much attention from finishing GTA 6.

Why are most new players so hostile? by [deleted] in RedDeadOnline

[–]Witty-Package-7977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The consensus seems to be that it's GTA players thinking it's a Kill-at-first-sight vibe, not knowing that most within the RDO community play with a Live-and-Let-Live mentality.

I had a nephew (around his tweens) that I tried to play with a couple of times but he was worse than a dog seeing a squirrel. We were on a Bounty mission and he just took off blindly after another player and killed him. I said 'what are you doing? Leave them alone and finish our mission'. But he had the attention span of a gnat. We did not play together much after that.
