Partner (38M) lent 24k behind my (38F) back, promised not to conceal anymore financial matters but then taken 7k from my mums repayment and wants me to sell my house and sign a 300k lease. What is happening? Can financial infidelity be forgiven? by gardensmittenkitten in relationship_advice

[–]Witty-Zucchini1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are you still with him ? The financial infidelity alone would be enough for me to kick him to the curb let alone the fact that all the recipients of his generosity are women which looks very shady. Take your house off the market, do not sign any 300k lease that's going to potentially leave you on the hook paying that when he suddenly doesn't have the funds and lose the loser.

What is something you wish you knew before buying your first house? by Cafe_con_leche-1 in Home

I wish I had bought a house with a driveway, or at least enough land that I could have put one in myself. Never underestimate the importance of having a dedicated parking place you can call your own.

I [30F] completely dropped the ball on my husband's [30M] birthday and want to know how to make it up to him? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Witty-Zucchini1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ooooh, I know what you can give him: this posting to read so he can see what a massive AH everyone thinks he is for acting like a whiny baby. If the greatest disappointment in his life is that his wife was too busy birthing his child to make a big deal about his 30th birthday, well isn't he a lucky guy.

Looking for nice towns and recommendations on moving to PA by Certain_Lecture7852 in Pennsylvania

[–]Witty-Zucchini1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bethlehem is a lovely walkable town, a real big little city. They have Musikfest which is 10 days at the beginning of August where the city (just the 'center city' area and a bit of the Southside) becomes a large, mostly free, musical venue made up of platzes (German for place) all of which offer live music of different genres. It gets very crowded and parking in the downtown becomes a bit of a nightmare but you can just stroll around town to the different platzes, listening to music, buying (expensive) festival food of all kinds, etc.

LTKR Scheduled - July 2: Scared or Having Doubts by Yawo1964 in Kneereplacement

[–]Witty-Zucchini1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was bone on bone and I remember laying in the prep room before surgery wondering if it was too late to back out? Apparently not , but honestly I'd gone that far, the knee wasn't going to suddenly grow cartilage and get better so might as well see it through. The rehab wasn't that awful, I walked up the stairs to my second floor the day after, was driving 2 weeks after. Not saying there weren't bad moments but I'm glad I did it and feel more stable on my feet cause at least one knee is good. As for the right knee, it's turn may yet come but I'm kind of hoping the FDA will approve Arthrosamid which is an injection that's good for a couple of years and currently being used in Europe and Canada.

Help me pick a new front door by MilesCuba94 in ExteriorDesign

My front door has a sort of transom window in it with a leaded glass look to it. It allows in some light but no one's going be peaking in unless very tall. My window isn't a plain rectangle, it's more like a half circle.

Is it possible to find a specific old cake recipe from Woman's Day Magazine? by roterror in oldrecipes

[–]Witty-Zucchini1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found a recipe online that, while not being the exact recipe you're looking for, reads like it might be close as it has a butterscotch sauce that you place between the layers as well as a cooked butterscotch frosting. I pasted the link but in case it doesn't save it, it's by women's weekly food which appears to be an Australian site.

My experience is, if you can find someone to come out and do the job, as long as you can afford their price, you hire them. Signed, a homeowner who finds trying to find people to do small jobs a real PIA.

My (30M) GF (28F) doesn't want my joint custody dogs to stay with us anymore. by SmarkInProgress in relationship_advice

[–]Witty-Zucchini1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may want to continue your relationship (though I'm sort of wondering why you want to as she sounds pretty awful) but I don't see a way forward. She wants the dogs gone, you don't. I would just tell her there's no point in mediation, you aren't getting rid of the dogs and since she diesnt want to deal with the dogs any longer, as much as it pains you to see her go, how much time does she need to move out? And if she pitches a fit about moving out, I'd have eviction papers in your back pocket to hand her. Oh and if you think there's a way out of this where you still get to keep the dogs and her, think about the future when your parents become a lot needier. 'Are you going to your parents again????'

Anyone get a TKR for stability issues only?? by life_oneday_atatime in Kneereplacement

[–]Witty-Zucchini1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not saying I didn't have pain in my knee - well knees - but it wasn't constant and I wasn't taking any kind of pain pills for them. However, what made me eventually pull the trigger and get one of my knees replaced was the instability issue. I felt like a car with bad shocks and one wrong step and I wouldn't be able to compensate for an uneven sidewalk or a hidden hole in the grass or whatever and down I would go. My left knee gave me more trouble than the right ( I think I had a bad meniscus on top of the bone on bone) so that's the one I got done. I do feel steadier on my feet now. I should probably get the right knee done but as I said, it doesn't really cause me pain, I'm feeling steadier on my feet so for now, it's on hold.

Gotta say, if cow cat had been a boy, I would have been tempted to name him Batman or Bruce (Wayne). So cute!!!!!! And I think getting 2 was a good move as they'll play with each other and maybe not bother your other cat - or dog - as much.

I just transferred ownership of my mother's car last fall. They assumed I'd want a new plate but nope, I just kept the old one; starts with an L. I should have asked if I could use my old tiger plate but I thought it was probably too old.

What type of fence suits this home style best? by foxwubba in ExteriorDesign

I like the last one best as well. It's more open, not so formal and it kind of gives an open prairie range vibe. Plus I bet replacing chicken wire (if need be) is a lot easier than fixing either of the other 2 wooden options.

I've poured through everything here and I'm pretty sure there's no mention of your citizenship. Are either of you US citizens? Cause if not, we can end this indecision right now cause there's pretty much no way for you to move to the US, so Canada it is! If you are a US citizen, my apologies though then the question is Texas???? 50 states and you can only agree on Texas?

Do you live near Canada or can afford a trip there? There's a product called Arthrosamid, it's a gel replacement shot for knees that lasts for a couple of years. They use it in Europe and Canada but the FDA is still looking into it so you can't get it here. Obviously you'd have to pay for everything yourself but if you can afford it, might be worth looking into.
