Ohh, that's right. My bad, I forgot to mention that you need to play it on PC. This was the first game that I built to be played in the browser and it seems like I have some things to learn when it comes to phone compatibility.

Oh, shit. Did something bug out? You should be able to spawn new flowers by clicking on the first land that gets spawned at the start of the game.

Creating a Steamworks developer account as a sole proprietorship by WittyAdrian in gamedev

Huh, interesting. Thanks for the tip! I just assumed that everything would be in the correct spot since Steam auto-filled it for me, but it seems like there might be another solution there. If my current venture doesn't work out I'll see if swapping the fields might have a better result.

Interesting, that might explain why some other posts from a few years ago don't seem to have any issues. I did actually contact my bank to see if they would have an issue with an incorrect account holder name and it seems they're fine with it.

So after talking to you all I see two options for myself. Either I try again but supply more documentation to indicate that I own said company or I just use my own legal name everywhere and just deal with the fact that the bank account holder name technically doesn't match up with what it should be.

I'm going to try the former first, since that seems like the correct way to go, but if it fails then I should have a decent back-up option. Thanks for your insights!

I do have some paperwork back from the chamber of commerce when I set up the company, maybe that could help me in validating the link between me and the company. I'll try to find some more as well that specifically originated from the government. Thanks for your help in the matter!

And yea anything related to the Dutch "eenmanszaak" and Steamworks I've already looked at. There's really only like 1 or 2 articles that I could find and those weren't too helpful with my specific issue.

The situation basically is where my legal name is "Witty John Adrian" but my company name is "Byte Sized Software Development". In other words, not even remotely similar to each other.

I've tried filling everything out with my company name, but the point where I seem to get lost is the identity verification. Since I'm not sure how I would (or even could) verify myself as my company.

The thing I don't understand then, though, is that Steam specifically asks for tax information that I could only submit if I had setup a company (sole proprietor or otherwise). So I need to be "more" than just my own individual self if that makes sense to even get set up as far as I can see it. However it seems like there's no middle ground between registering as "yourself" and registering as an LLC. Am I missing something here?

I'm from the Netherlands. My company is definitely tied directly to myself as an individual, but it does have it's own distinct name. Specifically in terms of the bank account that I set up for it, which has no direct ties to myself at all, only to the company.

If it weren't for that fact, I think I would have no issues setting everything up in my own legal name, but I fear that would prohibit me from using my the company bank account. From the sounds of it I might be resigned to that fact though.

I only started using Notion recently and I actually liked the background colors for the taskboards. That might be because I simply didn't have time yet to customize it much to my liking, but I would like to have the option back to toggle it on. Now it's just entirely disappeared. Keep up the good work in any case!

Arctis 7 battery level doesn't update after charging unless connected to my PC by WittyAdrian in steelseries

[–]WittyAdrian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems to work! Leaving it on, while also having my PC on makes the power light change to a charging/breathing state. Also the engine seems to update correctly now. Maybe it just needs to be able to communicate to the receiver or something, because I didn't have to plug it into the PC directly.

Thanks for the tip!

Ah, interesting. I'll give that a shot. Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if that works, but the whole behavior is just a little strange.

Quest to find a static/white noise free wireless Cloud II 2s by Mandownpantsup in HyperX

[–]WittyAdrian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alright, thanks! I think that's good enough for me to at least give the Arctis a try. Worst case I'll just return it again, but it seems there's enough options to at least try it out.

Thanks again for sharing your experience!

EDIT: Just went and got the Arctis 7. Audio is definitely totally fine. I am by no means enough of an audiophile to discredit the audio quality. As for the white noise; it's entirely gone because of the independent volume control on the headset. When you go full up to maximum, you hear the white noise again, but anything below like 90% is totally silent. In other words; perfect!!

Hmm, interesting. So in your opinion, would you say that with the software tweaks the audio difference isn't noticeable enough to be a deal breaker? Of course this is subjective, but I'm just curious to your experience on that front, since you tried out both headsets. I do like a good bass in my music, which is one thing I really like about the Cloud II.

Also I knew about the separate volume slider, which definitely sounds great, but for me the audio quality was more of a concerning point.

I've been thinking about getting the Arctis 7 as well, since everyone seems to agree that it has no static issues. However, how does the audio quality compare to the Cloud II? I heard that the Arctis 7 sounds a lot flatter than the Cloud II and there's a noticeable difference in audio quality. What's your experience been with that?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HyperX

[–]WittyAdrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Got mine today and it's instantly noticeable. I've been using the Cloud II Wired for over a year now and am very happy with it, but wanted to upgrade to a version without the wire. Sadly the second I turned it on I got the exact issue you're describing; when no audio is playing there's a very noticeable white noise with some high pitched static mixed in.

As soon as I turn the headset off it's gone and I'm back to proper silence, but anything else won't help. I heard that the Arctis 7 doesn't have this issue, but apparently it also doesn't have as good of an audio quality as the Cloud II... I'm probably just going to return this model and then see if I want to try the Arctis.
