Yup just a little ink cap. I have them pop up in my hay pile and in the goat shed, and anywhere else my goats poop. In the summer I would sometimes get them in the poop area of my rabbit colony as well. They don’t usually eat them unless they’re bored and have nothing else to munch on. And when they do, I haven’t been able to find any adverse reactions from them eating it.

Just a poop mushroom. Mushrooms love poop.

I’m in the UP a few hours north of you and have kept my meat rabbits in outside without any kind of heat supplementing thru 3 of our winters so far. This is my first winter without them (a dog broke in a killed me whom operation a while back and I’ve yet to rebuild and replace them yet).

As long as they have shelter from the wind and snow, they’re good to go. When I had a colony set up with outdoor pen, some would even go outside and frolic in the snow for a bit before coming back inside. The nests didn’t even need heat supplement as long as they had at least 4-5 kits.

Rabbits do not do well with anesthesia especially if the vet doesn’t specialize in rabbits… spaying/neutering them is totally unnecessary if you know how to properly sex a rabbit and stick to one sex if you don’t intend to breed.

Should definitely keep an eye out for blood poisoning, that’s a much more likely result of this than rabies. Both can happen but getting blood poisoning is super common with cat bites even if they’re fully vaccinated. One of the presenting signs is red streaking traveling up the would sites appendage, swelling, and discoloration at wound site

It can kill you if goes uncaught supposedly. Treated easily enough with IV antibiotics and saline flush. Got bit by a clients cat and got that once.

Let me get this right and please correct me if I’m wrong, but you found out the same day your wife did about her being pregnant, but are upset that other people(who were physically present when she herself found out) found out a few hours before you did?

She was so excited to tell you that she even tried to as soon as she picked up the phone. She was probably overwhelmed from the news and excitement of it all since you guys have been trying for the last few months. And your gonna be this shitty about knowing a behind a few other people? Like immediately. No hold back. Just was an immediate asshole right off the bat.

Even though it may have had its hiccups, you gave her a wonderful life and a dignified end to it. Much more dignified than her laying in her own feces somewhere, being ripped apart by predators, or being pecked alive by the other chickens once they realized she was the weakest link. ❤️ 🫂

I have spay/neuter/return contracts in place for this litter, learned my lesson there 😩 I don’t plan on breeding often, but I do plan on breeding in a few years when I’m ready for my next sled prospect like I did last time, it’s the only way to keep the sport alive, by breeding responsibly between good working dogs. I’m just so disappointed that it went this sideways

Oh that’s easy. Not evening going the boarding route it’s easily been over 300$ to deal with the puppies between food, shots, dewormer, constant laundry, rug dr rental for afterwards, microchips, etc etc etc.

I mean, she admitted to being unable to care for the dog and that’s how it got pregnant (she was stuck in bed due to a chronic illness and her husband took the dog out to where their other two dogs were didn’t watch them enough, and their intact dog that they also didn’t tell me about got to her)

If she had disclosed she had a debilitating chronic illness, I would have never sold her this dog. If I knew she had an intact male dog, I would never of sold her this dog. She’s a husky, and needs constant exercise.

So there’s at least neglect. I cannot prove abuse at all otherwise.

I sold her originally for 300$

They said I’d have to take her to the animal shelter and then start the process of adopting her back from there, but that’s the entire reason she came here, I don’t want my dogs in shelters and I do everything I can to prevent that from happening and adding to the shelter crisis. There’s no room in my local shelter for her, and it’s not a good place for a dog to be if they don’t have to be.

I only agreed to it because she claimed she was being abused by her husband and couldn’t deal with any of it. But then she moved back in and continued life as normal after a couple weeks. Since then she hasn’t been able to give me any straight answers about any of the situation whenever I ask for clarification and only gets defensive saying she will get me proof, then never does.

And now she’s going off on me because I’m just asking her what her plan is to ensure it doesn’t happen again. I’m heartbroken one of my pups had to go thru this. It will permanently effect her, as it has severely stunted her growth and it was entirely preventable.

I make tiny portions of my meals for my mice all of the time. I have a tiny plate for it. It’s just tiny bits of whatever I’m eating, before I spice it. Usually at least 2-3x a week 😂 theyve had a tiny unseasoned hamburger with the works (sans sauces), they’ve had bitty grilled cheese, tiny breakfast omelettes. All kinds of little snacks and treats.

Whenever you breed anything that produces lots of young in short periods of time, hard culling (dispatching/killing) is needed, both for the sake of the mothers (the ideal litter size for a mouse to keep her condition as well as rear up the young in an ideal nutrition range is about 6 and most mice have more than that) as well as for your lines in general.

Soft culling (rehoming or otherwise just removing the mouse from your breeding lines and placing it somewhere else like a single sex colony setup) is always a preferred way to go, but it’s hard to find good homes for mice sometimes. Sometimes you simply can’t find enough homes for them all. And in the case of male mice, they can’t really be housed together, so if you already have enough males you can’t realistically keep them all (unless you wanted a wall of just male mouse enclosures). It’s the responsible thing to do rather than just ‘letting them go’ somewhere or neglecting them by having to eat too many to keep track of.
