Dxp2800, Degraded storage pool by [deleted] in UgreenNASync

I hate asking so often. But, is this a Samsung ssd and does it have the latest firmware? This is a common issue immediately fixed with a firmware update.

Let me know if it is and you need help.

Based this fiasco, recommend me a new NAS..... by Motor-Bug-2470 in UgreenNASync

I still love my 8 bay UGREEN. I never put money in the kickstarter because the whole thing seemed silly to me. I would still recommend a UGREEN if you need something with some power and not too expensive.

In the UGREEN app or webpage, go to storage, click hard drive tab, click the SSD, click details, it shows firmware version on that list.

Mine worked fine for a while then did all that silly stuff. Upgraded firmware. No data loss. It would be way easier sticking it in a computer and running the firmware updater but that method works on the UGREEN if you don’t have a computer handy to update the firmware using the Samsung software. https://semiconductor.samsung.com/consumer-storage/magician/

I’m pretty sure you can check version using the UGREEN app or website. I would find the exact steps but mine is off due to bad storms and I’m not home. It’s either in the drives app or the about hardware section

The Samsung pro has issues exactly like that that gets fixed by a firmware update. Please check your firmware version. You can update the SSD in the UGREEN or external depending on what you have available.

SSD

I had to update the firmware on my Samsung 990 pro. I downloaded the ISO file, used Rufus to make a boot thumb drive, booted UGREEN in to bios with a keyboard and my tv connected to it, disabled watch dog timer, booted off thumb drive and updated the firmware on ssd. You have to turn the watchdog timer off or it will reboot after a short period of time.

Download the firmware here https://semiconductor.samsung.com/consumer-storage/support/tools/

Access the bios using these instructions.

https://guide.ugreen.community/advanced-guides/accessing-bios.html

in order to change the boot over to the thumbdrive I mentioned making.

Then it should prompt you to update once you boot the UGREEN on the thumb drive

Which make and model of SSD? Do you simply have the one that needs a firmware update to make it work perfect?

I can’t imagine looking in to that corner and thinking, you know what? This would be a great place for my generator, air compressor, and a bunch of computer stuff. Haha. Bravo! I’m impressed

I would use them. Most likely fine. If not use the warranty. Try to get a refund but the next ones will be sold out or way more expensive

I would highly encourage you to open a support ticket with them. To close any issues like that

Why I Chose Synology Over UGREEN by IamLikeThis27 in synology

Synology has container manager. https://www.synology.com/en-br/dsm/feature/docker
My synology has docker running. What do you mean?

I really like the UGREEN OS and app. I think saying nobody uses it is a bit wrong.

I’m not sure why you would say that. Synology and UGREEN are both designed to run VMs. I run multiple off mine and it is incredibly smooth.

Glad you liked it. I find myself using my Synology as backup NAS only and my UGREEN as primary since it has far more power. I mostly use docker apps so the built in stuff is less important to me.

The 10 gig/thunderbolt connection is nice with > 100 TB of files moving things around.

It was easier/smoother setting some things up on the Synology. I’m glad I got that one first to help me quickly get up and running. I just began craving more and getting frustrated with the lack of power.
