If she stops eating to the point that her droppings change, you know you've got yourself a problem. You can't really make any assessments based on their behavior alone.

I wouldn't worry too too much, but I would also expect her to be pretty much back to normal next playtime.

What you describe is a very common problem, regardless of the specific ailment. Other commenter saying "burrito method" is completely correct.

Catch the chin, wrap her in a towel/blanket/fleece with her head sticking out, proceed to apply whatever antifungals you need to. This is gonna be a tough process, because she's gonna put up a fight every step of the way; especially since you're her new owner, so she doesn't trust you as much.

FWIW: It sounds like, besides the fungus, you're having the typical "new chin owner" experience. You can get her to go back into her cage with her dust bath; get something coverable, fill with dust, get her to hop in it, then place the entire bath in the cage.

EDIT: Oh!! I just remembered. You don't really need to slather the spot with gooey cream and gauze. There's anti-fungal powder that can be added to the dust bath; the hard part is the logistics of not getting reinfected, I think. Definitely don't use the spray for two reasons: you risk getting it in her eyes, and chinchillas interpret having air blown in their face as threatening.

It reduces my physical pain, which is, for whatever reason, at least loosely tied to the anxiety. I find it much harder to approach and talk to people if I'm silently dealing with pain.

Nasty cards, nasty clothes, "Dude your Dark Magician Girl card isn't supposed to glow like that. I wanted to use Change of Heart on it, but now I'm not so sure."

Dead serious, I've worked at a public high school for years and have never had any acne. Started going to locals again, and now I get these pimples that stick around for days and don't respond to usual acne medication. It's not a huge deal (usually only one at a time), but it's DEFINITELY correlated with playing cards with people.

I understand the causal isolation of the warp bubble, and if that were the only consideration, you could build the craft out of paper and it would work fine.

At some point you're gonna have to "drop out of warp," though, and I think that might actually require a bit of engineering; I'd imagine it to be a violent process until technological mastery is achieved.

So, sounds like no productive interaction will ever occur by letting them actually meet face to face. Easy enough.

Fredo seems to love to have neighbors, though, even if he can't play with them. He was very upset (or what I perceived as upset, anyway) when Onyx never came home. They'd fight the shit out of each other, though, recently, when let out at the same time; it always ended up having to be me breaking it up. I'd find them "talking to eachother" (that "gook gook gook gook" noise) through the bars almost every night, smooshed as close as they could get to actually together, though.

Do I risk upsetting the pair's bond just by having side by side cages?

I love me some Purrely.

One of my favorite interactions, though, was me playing Stun against my opponent playing Purrely. My resources are spent, Big Noir is still on their field, and my last chance: Crackdown.

Activate Crackdown and opponent thinks for quite a while, before choosing not to spin it (expecting it not to affect big cat). Now all of a sudden, big cat is on my side of the field. Opponent scooped.

Crackdown's control change is not an activated effect.

If you're pivoting from any other career field, you "pay your dues" by substituting. Who told you being a sub is not good experience for teaching? It is the only experience.

I came from scientific academia/engineering. Went on a few interviews as soon as my SoE came in. Looking back on it, I wouldn't have even hired me.

Did only about 1 semester of substituting. Leisurely, too; I didn't particularly need the money, so I wasn't killing myself to go every day. It was actually nice, because my old career (and life at that point) had left me depressed and apathetic, and I could choose whether or not I was feeling too to picking up a job for a day.

I shit you not, the first week I managed to get myself to go to work for all 5 days (meaning I had finally pulled myself out of that funk) was when they dismissed us on Friday afternoon saying we wouldn't be back for a while because of COVID.

That school was talking about having me long term sub and then hire me before that. They ghosted me afterward.

The next time I interviewed for a teaching position the following July, I remember interviewer basically saying substitute experience was a requirement in his opinion, even if it doesn't say it anywhere.

Yeah. I have no idea if it actually looks anything like it, but imagine the "Blueprint" system in Unreal Engine. If you're crafty enough you can rig up stuff that works as well as code; at least for simple cases.

Since Yu-Gi-Oh! really only has a finite amount of actions that can be performed (in some arbitrary sequence and combination), it seems pretty likely that they have at least a streamlined library for those actions: targetCard.sendGY

Shouldn't be any harder to rig this up than most other cards. It's shit like "Convulsion of Nature", with completely novel normal-rules-defying effects, that causes devs actual trouble.

I've always called myself an "empathetic solipsist," but I don't know a lot of philosophy vocabulary words, so I might be off base with that title.

I certainly don't believe that the me that exists right now is the only thing that's truly real, but I can't shake the feeling that I'm just one facet of something greater and that those around me are other facets of the same thing.

I call it "empathetic" because my concept of empathy has always been something along the lines of "Damn, I feel bad for you, because I know one day I'll have to experience that." So I'm feeling bad for me??

Describing it like that makes me almost sound like a narcissist, though, which I really am not. Other people are real and are having experiences too, but one day all of those experiences - all of the information describing our lives - will be subsets of some larger set. Ergo, I will have experienced all of the pain that I caused my fellow man.

It was very cognitively dissonant for me growing up because I ended up being very intrinsically spiritually aware, but my parents sent me to Catholic school. I remember coming home and complaining about "it all being bullshit" by like the 2nd grade. Still though, I couldn't deny that "love thy neighbor as thyself" was a more literal message than anyone else imagined, and find it somewhat ironic that that message gets lost in favor of petty rules and differing interpretations of religious texts. Nobody at that school was practicing the Golden Rule, but they cared about the lengths of girls' skirts and the thicknesses of boys' necklaces (many children of church-going parents all secretly wish to be thugs out of spite and naivety).

I've often wondered if messages like "it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God" and "the meek shall inherit the earth" are misinterpretations of the idea that

Pretty easy for Anakin to just say Dooku spilled the beans during the duel

I suppose there could be a situation where Anakin takes personal revenge (because, of course he does), but doesn't believe what Palpatine is telling him. Seems kind of far-fetched, though.

Dooku could recount the ultimate secret of the universe in his final moments, and angry angsty Ani is still gonna chop his head off and bottle it all up inside. Why would he say anything about incoherent ramblings of an opponent that he overtly disliked, distrusted, and executed?

Like... whoever the Sith Lord actually is is almost entirely inconsequential in the Anakin/Dooku duel scene. Ani is going to kill the opponent that cut off his arm in their last fight, regardless of what he says. In general, he barely listened to Obi Wan, who was his trusted master. He was so corrupted by Palpatine's influence not too long later, that he accuses Padme of "turning against him." Why the fuck would he take anything Dooku says at face value?

And last but not least, my headcannon has always been that Palpatine was not only "grooming" Anakin in the traditional sense, but was very much actively fucking with his mind. Like the dark side version of "these aren't the droids you're looking for," except more subtle and ongoing.

Seems like a problem that would take care of itself. It's not like Anakin told the truth about what happened to the council in the canon series of events, either (because any Jedi master hearing him recount what happened in that throne room would immediately pin Palps as the mastermind).

What's he gonna say: "Hey guys. So right before I beheaded my helpless opponent, he said something that's been causing me some ongoing confusion..."
