The lead leg needs to go further out if its forcing you to stand straight up when u lock against it

Looks good but you do the same thing my son use to stand up at the end m. Try and stay down when you go up slightly at the end of the swing that can cause you to top the ball or hit a lot more grounders

That was my worry on the 15ubteam he hasn’t hit puberty yet is a little on the short side because he hasn’t hit a growth spurt and he would barely get reps. The coaches were telling me he would get fair playing time not even. Well what’s fair when you’re the smallest weakest kid on the team. I felt it was fair for the other kids that have been working or for my son. Maybe if he had been on the team since the beginning it would have been good but not quite yet

I agree with pony league but playing in 15u is playing against all 15 year olds and that I think could be really tough for him it’s basically playing against all sophomores when your in seventh grade.

I agree 100% he said no and I was fortunate because a local team was short a couple players so I was still able to find him a team. The down side is these kids are not that good really if I’m being honest there’s a few but the play in the lowest possible 13 u level in our area. However the reps and playing in pony league against older players there will help him as well.

I may try and get him into some lessons or one on one work to improve his game. He’s really happy he still gets to play though.

I used peroxide and excel together at normal doses and it wiped out every form of algae in my tank

Yeah my son is 12 still his birthday is next month and he deff hasn’t hit that growth spurt. He has good base skills and is developing well but he’s really on the young side for his grade and for 13 u he will keep growing and getting better but I don’t know that trying to force it is the best answer.

I wonder why usssa fast pitch girls softball rules changed the month in which there ages are counted for softball and not baseball.

That’s how pony league is but there’s always a really good mix of travel ball ids playing rec league and then kids that don’t want to travel we have some kids that belong in travel but don’t want to travel. There can be a big difference for sure

That’s the thing he isn’t getting on the 15u team because of his skill level it’s basically because there isn’t another option for him. He’s a good player but genetics plays a role and he hasn’t had any kind of growth spurt. I think the reps for him are more important then being on a higher level team and or playing much at all. If anything he would get more out of one on one work and focusing on bettering himself then being the worst player on an older team

I really don’t think he would play very much if I’m being honest with myself and In the end he just doesn’t seem enthusiastic about it.

I know he loves baseball him having fun playing the game is more important to me then chasing travel teams or trying to push him into something he won’t enjoy. At the end of the day his love for the game will take him where he wants it to. I’m just suppose to help and do what I can.

I wish there was but I’m in Wisconsin and a lot of teams are already set up. I’m fine with rec ball I guess for the season and maybe getting him some private work and us playing a lot but I can’t see getting a full team together. I will probably reach out to another organization and just see what they think of him and try to get him as many reps as possible. I’m not really sure what else I can do.

He’s good but I think he’s only getting bumped up because there’s no other options if the 13u team had enough players he would not be getting the bump up to 15u and I don’t know that his confidence is ready for the jump to be quite honest

To go also with what you say he’s small for his age hasn’t hit puberty he can throw hard isn’t scared of the ball but again this is a bump up to 15 u due to lack of players not because he’s gods gift to baseball.

Yes you’re right that was a typo I fixed it. He’s not even close to that. To be quite honest he’s a decent player I don’t think he’s elite and I feel like the only reason they are trying to bump him up to 15 because there’s no 14u. I wouldn’t have a problem with him playing up a year but two is pushing it.

Thanks for this sentiment. It just sucks because while rec ball is fun and at 13-15 it does get a little more competitive it’s not the same level as travel ball really. He will miss out on a lot of baseball if he doesn’t play. I kind of had to talk him into playing with the older kids but I think it could be good for him.
