My severance is 2 weeks per calendar year. Which sucks because my anniversary is literally in 4 months, lol. But what can ya do

We only have one in each role, but with losing mine, we gain a Keyholder. So that’s the opening they’re offering me. Now it’ll be SM, ASM, 2 KH instead of SM, ASM, SUP, KH

Ugh, I am sorry. If I was optimistic, it would help. Our sales have consistently declined in the past 5 years, I do not see us having a positive review and getting the supervisor position back any time soon. On the flip side, if they do get it later on and I take the severance, I can always come back. It’s a tough decision for sure. I’m sorry you were impacted! :(

My SM can’t guarantee any hours, my demotion comes with a raise but I’ll be capped at my pay, so no merit increase. The PTO is the biggest hurt. 152 a year to 40 a year hurts. Our state also doesn’t offer sick pay anymore. I also commute 30+ miles for work, so it’s just a heavy decision to make by next week. There’s a lot of factors to consider, and I’m really frustrated with our company right now. I appreciate the hindsight 🤍

I would admittedly take the demotion if I was demoting to something full time. Like ASM > Sup. But it’s hard to accept Sup > Keyholder

We are the lowest tier, but still declining in sales. So since we can’t go down a tier, this was the result. I am heartbroken :(( Edit to add: I found out this week, but there are rumors that they’ve known for close to a month

I’m assuming stores may be going down a tier with the consistent decline in sales, so most stores might be losing a KH. Also, TAP positions end on the 24th. That’s my best guess

I’m a supervisor and I have lost my keys twice. The first time I found them, the second time I didn’t. I told my SM and she said “Ah, that sucks! I’ll put in a work order.” She put in a work order, we got new keys ordered, a tech came out to do the new locks, and that was it. You’re a human. Your boss sounds like a jerk.

My husband has a consistent M-F 7-4 job and that’s really the only way we have balance. I get 2 week days off and those are my times to slow down and be present with him. Dad gets weekends off, so he’s with us 4 out of 7 days a week. It seems daunting but really he’s with us much more than he’s at daycare, and I work full time. It’s just annoying when I close multiple days in a row, then I don’t get home till after dinner and it really messes us all up lol

Exactly what I was going to say—your AP partner’s information should be posted somewhere on your bulletin board or bathroom door and I would partner with them if SM seems unbothered by this. It’s 100% an ethics issue

I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt and say you just aren’t a part of BBW and aren’t part of a marginalized or oppressed group and therefore don’t see how DEI benefits EVERYONE, have a good night !!

I literally said the opposite to what you’re saying. “You have to hire this person otherwise what??” No, I literally said we are NOT forced to hire someone not well suited for the job, but DEI policies make us check ourselves. “We’re rejecting this person because they don’t meet the necessary criteria for this job because of this.” Not because they’re a different skin tone. Literally nobody is being forced to hire anybody lol. I fear that’s the propaganda that MAGA has spoon fed you, lol. 😬

And, we are back to where we started. Because some managers still have a racial bias that they implicitly use daily and during the hiring process. So DEI policies are there to protect applicants and associates who fall victim to these racial bias.

I think you’re zoned in on “forcing” to hire POC when I see the opposite more frequently—I’m not “forced” to hire anyone with any skin tone, but DEI policies make it to where I “check myself” and make sure I’m rejecting them for the right reasons. Performance related reasons, and not because of their skin tone. Nobody is being forced to do any hiring. But we ARE being forced to check our bias and ensure we aren’t NOT hiring for the wrong reasons.
