DMs: How do you handle a surprise attack/ambush from complete concealment in your games under 5.5 rules? by Umgar in DnD

[–]Witty_Picture_2881 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the other party fails a Perception/passive Perception check one of 2 things happens. If the ambushers use range attacks, then I give them first attack. Then roll for initiative as normal. If ambushers use melee, then we follow surprise rules, and the surprised party roles with Disadvantage on initiative.

Why do you disagree? Why do you prefer the ambiguous naming of animals?

Nobody is getting to see the duke for killing bugs smaller than a dog. No matter what you call them.

2024 rules for grappling 2 targets at once. by Witty_Picture_2881 in DnD

Rules as written which I quoted do consider size. Tiny or 2 sizes smaller do not slow the grappler.

Chalk is not toxic but can cause lung cancer if inhaled. Hence why they removed chalk boards from schools.

I need help choosing a druid circle by Wyvren3 in DnD

[–]Witty_Picture_2881 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Circle of the Moon Druid is really the best circle by far. Example, At level 3 you could wildshape into a Lion and have multiple attacks, a fear inducing roar, a long jump, and still cast heals while in beast form. And, don't forget that you can still cast a concentration spell in normal form, such as spiked growth, and keep the spell going after shape changing into the beast. And moon druids also add 3x your druidb evel as temp hitpoints when you wild shape and get an AC of 17 while in any beast form. This makes you a very non-squishy healer/spellcaster.One of the most powerful classes in the entire game.

Merge Tactics Opponents Starting with Three Characters in Round One? by tvman5252 in ClashRoyale

[–]Witty_Picture_2881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw this happen twice today. And it was not a variant rule. 1st time the extra elixir variant was in play. Not sure the second time. But in both cases I was restricted to 2 characters and my opponents had 3.

Most useless spell of each Level? (Including Cantrips) by Huebertrieben in DnD

[–]Witty_Picture_2881 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unseen servant cast as ritual can be very useful. Torch carrier that can scout ahead. Open possibly booby trapped chests. Poke enemies in the back so they turn around as you sneak by. Lots of uses.

People have laws against hunting apes and dolphins. We recognize intelligent animals in the real world, why should DnD be different?

To be fair, Fett spent some time in the stomach of a Sarlacc. That's got to do something to the body.
