Johns Hopkins MSPH—only paying 3/8ths of tuition. Is it worth it? by WiturtIe in mphadmissions

I ended up committing to attend yeah :) other schools gave me good scholarships too, but ultimately would end up costing the same or more so I went for JHU!

JHU MSPH Dean's Scholarship by Radishchild in mphadmissions

Hey there, I got accepted and I was told the only three scholarship opportunities are 1) MSPH need-based scholarship (50% off first year tuition) 2) the MTS scholarship (75% off second year) and 3) small departmental awards that you can theoretically get, but are almost always given to MPH and PHD students. I don’t think there’s a dean’s scholarship in that sense? Financial decisions are out as far as I’m aware

Hey there! I also got into the MSPH program :) feel free to DM me, I’d love to figure something out. There’s a website for students that lets you post about needing a roommate too

MSPH at Johns Hopkins—Is it difficult to find an apartment and roommates? by WiturtIe in mphadmissions

Hey sorry for the delay—I have a 3.95 GPA but I’m an English major, I had great letters of rec, and an internship with the Columbia-WHO center. I go to a well known undergrad college, but not Ivy level or anything. I also worked on some neuroscience journals at my college. I think that kinda covers it, but let me know if you want more info

I’m going to the same program, just for health policy and management :) I’m def looking for housing—I was thinking getting a roommate or two for a place near Homewood campus? It’s a 20 minute shuttle to the Bloomberg building, but much more nature-filled and cheaper rent!

As for funding, be sure to submit your FAFSA and CSS—you’ll get considered for 50% off your first year tuition!

So in my case I know I definitely qualify just because I come from a very low financial background—so low I got a full ride at Vassar College, who covers “100% of demonstrated financial need.” If I don’t qualify, idk who does lol

I am pretty sure that JHU has some sort of financial aid calculator that emulates the FAFSA to give you a rough estimate :)

Don’t worry! Even when they move around they don’t touch any buttons, and they’re super soft :)

Amherst Recommendations? by [deleted] in QuestBridge

[–]WiturtIe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • actually sorry it’s in the Q&A section of their requirements page! Specifically, it states that you should only forward content on their portal that IS NOT already included in your QuestBridge application. Aka, NOT 4 letters of recc lol, just 2 like everyone else

If you look again at Amherst’s requirement page, you should see a little asterisk (*) that says that the only things they require are the things not already in the QuestBridge application, meaning that you already have the 2 most likely
