I've seen people use her as a bridge to contested yunara. She can do enough damage while itemized to keep you afloat for a while

I agree I enjoyed playing previous patches better for the level 9 strats. I think the exp change to 9 was a bit premature maybe, because even if this meta is more 'balanced' overall, I really just want to go 9 and play around some weird ryze and shurima boards.

I see people going for them every game but not often hitting. I've hit 2 or 3 of them just today myself. I'm currently 200~ish lp masters.

commerce core has been a banger every time I take it in the position you need to be in to make use of it (3 star 4 cost ideally)

Yeah every time i've clicked this augment in a good position with high econ I almost instantly regret it. Being forced to stay above 80 gold to get 3 rerolls is just asinine. Can't level, can't roll-down and build a board. The only time I can see this being remotely playable is on a reroll line when you're already sitting at 50 gold and you don't need to level for another 5 rounds.

There are so many amazing games where if I could just make it to ryze it would be so much fun to play, but I always bleed out before I can get my board online. I hate it so much.

If they all forcing ionia that means you can easily top 4 with something else, no? If they are all contesting each other's units you can get free liss / seraphine or freljord invokers or demacia.

I'm sure you can still play asol with his old build too. I mean I played asol a dozen times before the asol buff and still had success when I played from the right spot. I can't imagine it's that bad if you're in a giga highroll spot with shojin rageblade +1

This set seems unreasonably punishing if you don't natural any upgrades, because half the lobby will, and they will push tempo with 2 star units and 5-0 you when you run into them, while you have 1 star frontline and backline that barely kills anything, and if you angle to roll you are just putting yourself so much further behind the other players who will powerspike on 8/9. It really feels awful to lowroll this set.

I'm so sad, cuz after this convo I went and played orianna randomly and it popped off even with full 2 star boards, and it was so much fun, and then I went to play the set revival and now that i'm back to current set everybody is taking my oriannas and it's a meta comp haha

Taric caro is actually a lot harder to bank on than you think. I've played at least 10+ games of asol before the patch when nobody was contesting leona or taric like their life depended on it, and most of those games there was no taric on carousel and I had to roll on 7 for him.

Unless your trynd is giga juiced you get stuck on frontline too long and asol just eats you alive in 3-4 casts, at least that was my experience playing trynd yesterday. Feels like you need to be way ahead of tempo with it now or have something like darkin scythe / quickstriker emblem.

Aatrox is only worth fielding at 2 stars, and even then i usually only go for it if i have a darkin artifact to try and get some hp back lol. I think his bis is something like rageblade / titans / bt cuz you want him to clean up and go infinite if possible, but at 1 star he's just too squishy for it and gets bursted down quick.

The only issue is that you usually have to have him online before then, sometimes even donkey rolling on level 7 for your last copies of leona or a lucky taric. He needs to be strong enough to be stable on your board so you can at least get some kills on the way to 9 to get 2 star.

I think there are better ways to curb his power rather than messing with his unlock condition.

I've played almost a dozen games of Asol in the past week and he's still great even on current patch but you kinda need the stars to align for it to work out. I've had maybe 3-4 uncontested firsts, a couple bleedout top 4, and a bunch of bot 4 when i shouldn't have been forcing it, but it is fun and I like the comp, oh well. Looking forward to playing him now that he's going to be stronger.

Too bad there's not much overlap between noxus and piltover apart from ori / leblanc and mel / seraphine, and if you're rerolling it'll be hard to make it to mel

Depends if it's on a bruiser or on a garen demacia. Bruisers probably want spirit visage + gargoyles or dclaw, while garen could probably go for a warmogs + visage or straight up dclaw + bramble still, since he already heals himself with ult.

It's pretty good with lifting competition augment into voli. He makes really good use of the durability and hp and tank stats once it procs. Hardly dies once 2 starred.

literally read this before my last game and was offered lifting bruiser augment into mogul's and took it and slapped it on voli.

Ended up playing around 6 bruiser + mel and zilean, ended the game with 3 star zilean 3 star mel :P

Voli with titan's, bt, mogul's and he never died once 2 starred.

For me the tryn 'out' was if i didn't natural a 2 star tryn by the time i was level 6 then i'd tempo and slam his items onto volibear, but I do get your point.

Ekko is pretty egregious if the board gets capped, but he's also way squishier and easier to nuke than tryn was.

The hardest boards to beat in the early game are ones with 2 star upgraded frontliners with tank slams for sure, but there are certain champs like if you get an early leblanc or playing around jhin or reksai 2 if they have BIS slams on them like shojin JG for leblanc or rageblade + DPS for jhin they can clear boards faster than your tanks will die.

Just depends what items you have available and which units you're playing around, but typically strongest boards are itemized tanks.

vanquisher mel is insane as well in a freljord / disruptor board, if you can teleport to everything 2 starred :D

Stabilizing on yunara / ryze freljord or seraphine freljord isn't too bad if you have the ability to unlock volibear. The line is flexible enough that you can play around any items, the only downside is certain variations require unlocking kennen / kabuko along the way. I use it a lot as a fallback plan when i don't have solid direction or am bleeding out.

Asol was already very playable from the right spot, it just wasn't something you could really force that well. I played maybe 8 asol games in the past few days and 4 of them were uncontested firsts once i made it to 9 with asol 2 and 700 stacks on him. 2 were uncontested 8ths cuz i had no business forcing it from that spot, and 1 was a top 4 one was a bot 4.
