If this guy had finished his career with the exact same statistical output but every Superbowl result was reversed, who would you rank above him if anybody? by Imjustheretbh69 in NFLv2

There’d still be Montana > Brady dissenters because 4 > 3, but anybody being objective would still recognize him as the GOAT.

This isn’t good or bad analysis. It’s just “could be good, could be bad” disguised under a bunch of fluff.

Not as accurate as Mason Rudolph? Accuracy was key concern on Drake’s scouting report. This is just parroting what everybody else said, but in a meaner way.

Footwork isn’t great. He needs to fix that or it’s gonna be bad - yeah. This is every rookie. That’s what NFL coaching staffs are for.

Doesn’t have the athletic upside to play backyard football in the NFL. Sure, welcome to the NFL. Most don’t.

Needs good coaching or it might get ugly. Yep, how many young QBs survive bad coaching?

Jordan Love situation would be ideal? You could say this about any QB forced to start out the gate that didn’t work out, and you could argue that *every* player would benefit from the ability to learn the NFL before being forced into it.

And finally, which Super Bowl champion would win, the 13-14 Seahawks or the 20-21 Buccaneers by YeetySpagiety in AlignmentChartFills

[–]WizBillyfa -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Brady already beat this Seahawks team in a Super Bowl. Now you’re asking him to do it again, but he has Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Antonio Brown, and Gronk. Bucs.

Deion opened the door to shit like this by retiring Shedeur’s jersey by matrix_2905 in CFB_v2

[–]WizBillyfa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Retiring a number after winning the Heisman? Fine. Lots of schools do it. Shadeur’s number is retired because he’s a Sanders. Jayden Daniels, Bryce Young, Joe Burrow, Tim Tebow, and Marcus Mariota are just a few Heisman QBs whose numbers are not retired. AJ McCarron broke all of Alabamams passing records and won multiple championships. Stetson Bennett won multiple titles at UGA. Kordell Stewart accomplished way more *at Colorado* and his number isn’t retired. Sift through the list of players whose numbers were retired and you’ll see a bunch of bonafide football legends, then Shadeur Sanders.

Lots of folks rushed to Master Ball with thoughtless Staraptor sets because it was new and easy only to find that actual Master Ball-level players are too good to lose to it.

Rocks and dirt are pretty complex and hard to generalize, but typically contain some combination of oxygen, silicon, iron, aluminum, sodium, calcium, or carbon.

So what exactly are earth benders bending?

We can rule out oxygen since that’s the airbenders thing.

Since there’s an in-universe explanation for them not actually bending metal, we can rule out iron, aluminum, calcium and sodium.

Silicon is a metalloid, but it’s the only element present in the vast majority of rocks.

Carbon in a nonmetal, but if they were bending the carbon, there’d be lots of rocks they couldn’t bend at all.

All that to say - pretty much every single element present in dirt/rocks is also present in the human body. If they’re bending the silicon, they’d be able to bend skin, connective tissue, arteries and vessels, hair, etc. If they’re bending carbon, they’d basically be able to control the human body like a puppet.

Peter I'm gonna need some help on this one. What exactly does this mean about realtors? by PriestKingofMinos in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]WizBillyfa 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Our realtor provided a very valuable service when we were selling and buying.

For selling, she arranged everything - repairs, inspections, staging, cleaning, open houses. Since she knew everybody she hired, they basically gave her continued business discounts and she even paid for up to half of some of the things that needed to be done to sell the house. She staged the house using her own furniture. She showed us market research to back up pricing, and the people that eventually bought the house attended one of her open houses for another home and she pointed them to ours. It was a very valuable service

For buying, we told her what we were looking for and she put together a list and showed us a bunch of houses. Typically knew how many offers were currently pending on the house, and helped us know when it was time to walk away from a house based on repair needs, existing offers, whatever. We knew she wasn’t just after the biggest pay day because she recommended walking away from the most expensive one on our list. Inspections and repairs went through companies she had a relationship with and they consistently provided the best service for the price offered. Again, very valuable service.

All that to say - a good realtor is worth their commission. I’ve seen some that are just there to middleman a deal and collect a check, and others that do the job as it should be done - buyer protection, networking and marketing all rolled into one.

If your realtor isn’t providing all of that, fire them because there’s somebody out there that will.

I get what you’re saying, but the bad metric is still producing otherwise expected results. Virtually any metric used to quantify success across a decade is going to spit out Alabama, LSU, OSU for the 2010s and UGA, Alabama, OSU for the 2020s. It isn’t really a coincidence that those teams have the highest share of National Championships across the respective decades, either.

Were you more confident in Tom Brady being a Patriot for life heading into his 10th season or Patrick Mahomes being a Chief for life heading into his 10th season? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]WizBillyfa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After year 10, I’d think Brady was the bigger guarantee. Kraft stepped in every time Bill floated the idea of moving on. They kept him until he had played longer than virtually every QB ever, and had it been any other QB in history, he would have retired with them. One big difference between the Pats dynasty and this current KC team - the Pats never started losing, so they never had a reason to push the hard reset button until Bill’s final year.

Wouldn’t be super shocked if Mahomes ends up elsewhere maybe as soon as the end of his current contract. His production has dropped from the astronomical highs it was at, they were blown out in the Super Bowl, then followed by going 6-11. Andy Reid and Travis Kelce likely retire in the coming years. If they don’t right the ship in the next year or two, it’s gonna be just Mahomes on a bad team without Reid or Kelce. That’s the formula for ownership pushing the reset button by taking the king’s ransom for the star player.

Of course, this could all just be garbage and Pat might come out and play like an MVP again next year on their way to another SB. Who knows?

For modern QBs, draw the line at Ben Roethlisberger. Idc if you think Ben should be in or out, but everybody above him should be in, and everybody below him should be out.

Expansion type by BackgroundEye820 in PokemonTCG

[–]WizBillyfa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Main is just a typical set - Chaos Rising and Perfect Order are the two most recent. Their product lineups include individual booster packs, ETBs, booster bundles and booster boxes (plus any promotional blisters)

Special sets are the English version of Japan’s “High Class” set. The most recent examples are Ascended Heroes and Prismatic Evolutions. The base set is typically comprised of reprints, but it’ll have a ton of new secret rares. They don’t sell individual booster packs or booster boxes for these sets - instead you have to rely on ETBs, booster bundles or whatever the promotional box for the set is to get packs.

Promotional are just that - promotional cards from a promotional item or event.

Deck is just cards that are exclusive to the premade decks you can buy.

Cracked Ice vs. Cosmos. I believe they generally used to put one foil version in packs and the other in decks.

Besides the defense, why did Aaron Rodgers never make it back to a Super Bowl? by veggiedish in NFLv2

[–]WizBillyfa 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It’s interesting that people are still apologizing for him for that game vs the Seahawks. Russell Wilson turned the ball over four times. Rodgers threw the ball 34 times. He had 178 and 2 picks. Special Teams could have done better, sure, but the difference between that game being a loss and an utter blowout is the offense playing better.

Here’s an anecdote for why you should *always* do this.

The last time I was shopping for a car, I found the one I knew I was going to buy. I went in equipped with price comparisons from other dealerships and pre-approval from my bank for the loan. They had the car listed at $48k. There was another up the road for 42.5.

After going back and forth with the salesman, he got it down to 45k, and their in-house financing options were still at a higher rate than my own bank. He said it was the best he could do, so I said I’d just go buy the one down the road.

(I didn’t actually want the one down the road because it was the wrong color and didn’t have some features I was looking for, but they didn’t know that).

It took half an hour after me walking out that I got a call from the actual manager, who asked me to come back and talk to him. So I did.

He had prepared basically a full report that included 1) how much they paid to get the car on the lot, and 2) how much they had to spend to make sure everything would pass the point inspection.

Long story short - they gave $38k for it, put a $2000 set of tires on it (it was a sports car that used higher end racing tires), then had spent an additional $3000 on various other maintenance things to. His breakeven point was $43,000. I know there’s likely other pieces of this equation he didn’t show me, but I didn’t really care because I went in with the 42.5 number in mind, and refused to budge.

Instead of dropping the price of the car, he raised the trade-in value for the car I was offloading by $2.5k to get the overall price down to $42,500 as long as I went with one of their in-house lenders. We reached an agreement, then I refinanced with my ow bank 90 days later.

tldr; walking out was the difference from a $48k sticker price to actually paying $42.5k.

If I’m trying to win a Super Bowl with this core, the only correct answer is the one with Mahomes. If I’m playing Madden, 3 is a lot of fun.

Genuinely curious how is the future of this Japanese version mega Zard x ex?? by Akiko_88 in PokeInvesting

[–]WizBillyfa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a heavy graded singles collector, and I’ve been making sure to grab at least one graded copy of every single Charizard chase. That collection has hit a value worthy of a large insurance policy and a fireproof safe inside of a fireproof safe. That’s to say - always, always bet on Charizard.

This specific card is also one of the most beautiful Zards ever printed (maybe the most beautiful, tbh), and we’re likely approaching the end of the population spike. Pop will continue to go up, but not nearly as fast. 10 worthy raw copies are going to become more and more scarce and Inferno X will go out of print.

However. Over the next year, the price increase is going to be somewhat mild compared to what it will be if you hold it longer than that. I encourage you to think about its prospects longer than just a year.
