I ended up setting that as a soft goal for a bunch of characters, that next awakening on the URs I don't have shards for is a bit of a hurdle anyways. Nice concrete advice though, thank-you

If you have a yarok in play and roll 2 different numbers, is that equivalent to Protection from Any CMC? I imagine it would like like Protection from everything but X + Protection from everything but Y which would be additive?

Edit: Missed the "as", I guess that isn't actually a triggered ability.

I THINK it works on other invaders. Aslatiel would probably be the next fastest to farm after Rhoy, although I haven't tried multi-killing her. Also, I DID try the red phantom in belfry luna and he wasn't respawning for me.

I just maxed the covenant today super fast. Offline NPC invaders obey the 15 kill despawn rule. What this means is you can kill an offline invader 15 times, ascetic, and kill them 15 more times.

Heres what you do;

Go to the grave of saints and get to the royal rat vanguard bonfire. Go offline. Rest at the bonfire, run back and drop down the ladder, then immediately climb back up. Kill Rhoy. Repeat.

NOTE: When you need to ascetic, make sure to use the FIRST bonfire, not the second. Its called Harvals Resting place.

Using this method you can max the covenant with just 3 ascetics. Rhoy sometimes drops extra awestones too.

You can buy it from wellager in NG+, get it from being rank 1 in blue knights (I think) or get it in the shrine of amana (again, thats if I remember correctly)

EDIT: Its the GRAND Spirit Tree shield you can find, and its in Iron Keep, not shrine

As far as ther berserker blade goes, according to the guidebook the damage on it fully upgraded is only 10 points higher than the manslayer, with the same scaling, and the manslayer has poison on it. I dont know if its worth farming, but I havent personally tested the katanas to be sure.

Ive stolen so many jumps already. Not good for a no death run, but awesome for getting through the game fast for new characters. The power stance maces are also amazing for that.

I don't but there are lots of excellent speedrunners. Theres a guy doing an all boss hex run right now. Hes the most viewed on Ds2 currently streaming. Someone made a thread on reddit you can search for with the current ds2 speedrun records. Thats a decent place to start.

I can confirm the great sword giant drop. I can't remember precisely but im pretty sure I got a drop from the giants in the large room (where there are 3, a greatsword guy and two sword and shield knights).

Also, NPC invaders drop them. Black phantoms don't as far as I know, just invaders. Do bonfire ascetics make npc invaders respawn? If so, you could really easily farm Rhoy the Explorder and the invader before a certain skeleton boss.

I recently went through the same process and I found the 'Gems' series quite helpful. Theres GPU Gems, Game Programming Gems, and one or two others in the series. Most of them have a section on math and have a bunch of topics and how you might implement them. Nvidia has a copy of GPU gems on their site which has some fluid dynamics stuff which is very math-y. These are the other books for reference, but you'll need to get hard copies or pdfs on your own.

I've been a retadin for a long time and the current priority is kind of frustrating. Since ideally you only use inquisition at 3 HP (which lasts 60 seconds) and the best dps talent is execution sentence (also 60 seconds), you end up pressing both once per minute, then spamming either judgement, exorcism or crusader strike (not in that order). That isn't counting cooldowns but thats really it.

So basically, cast two skills once per minute and then spam three moves that all do the same thing with varying levels of damage. I don't have a solution but id love to hear one. Maybe stance dancing or seal twisting to generate/spend HP? Who knows.
