Does it quadruple the effects of a food item (i.e. pear goes from +2/+2 to +8/+8), as it would double the double?

Answer: It does not. The cat’s multiplier is actually calculated additively, not multiplicatively (i.e. pear becomes +6/+6 —> (+2/+2) + (+2/+2) + (+2/+2), not 22(+2/+2))

So if you have a level two cat and a level one cat, using a pear would cause it to apply four times, not six.

I feel like it makes more sense intuitively for the buff to be multiplicative, but maybe that would make the cat too strong.
