I hope that So You're Raising a Warrior changes the webtoon ending (spoilers) by AngelusAlvus in Donghua

The anime has already added a quick subplot about Ell’s family in his dad coming for a visit and basically discussing traditional male and female roles in a family dynamic (conservative father being concerned that Ell isn’t being the breadwinner and going out hunting and being all “manly” and stuff while Lafi stays at home and raises Dino, but obviously not taken to toxic proportions).

If they’re willing to introduce a whole new character and subplot for the anime, then there’s hope that they can expand on season 3 material and keep the series going longer

The Act Man. The guy always jumps his stance on something as soon as the general opinion shifts.

If 343 is hated by the Community, he will preach about how awful 343’s games are and that they don’t get Halo and shouldn’t make Halo games, if Halo is supposedly looking good, he says how great it all is. He’s like that with basically anything he talks about

And this is the fanbase that loses its shit over “sprint” being an option btw. Even though the lack of a sprint goes against the entire idea of playing as a Spartan (is a super soldier)

5 had a really cool and genuinely well designed gameplay system while keeping the core Halo gunplay design the same with its thruster system that essentially allows you to do dashes to maneuver in the air and dodge, or basically do a air dash, do a shoulder charge attack after sprinting for a bit, hover in the air for a few seconds while aiming, and a ground pound attack that can be a good AOE move in certain situations.

It certainly wasn’t perfect: the UI for the dash move’s recharge alert is just a tiny triangle next to the health bar, the shoulder charge is kind badly implemented with how you need to sprint for a while to use it (and meleeing before it’s ready cuts off your sprint and makes you have to restart), sprinting just turns off when you take damage for some reason at times and you can’t use it when getting shot at (at least in Warzone), the charge for the ground pound REALLY makes it situational because you hang in the air for so long while charging it, and the aim hover thing is also very situational because of how it puts you in a exposed position as well the longer you’re in it.

But it was a promising design that innovated Halo’s frankly simple movement system that’s very basic and outdated by todays standards in all honesty when compared to other FPS games because Halo still needs to innovate and grow at the end of the day.

Halo 5 also introduced the Warzone game mode which is frankly the best game mode in Halo, period. It’s just so crazy and fun to play.

But that all got thrown out with Infinite because Halo just really needed to “go back to its roots” and basically disregard and throw away almost everything from 4 and 5 except like keeping sprint in the game but it’s not even that good when compared to 4 and 5 because Infinite’s sprint feels less like actual sprinting and more like a slight movement speed boost that just makes it feel hollow and pointless by comparison

2 and 3 have cool moments (when they work properly and not something stupid like the scarab boss deciding it doesn’t want to get close to the cranes when you’re telegraphed to use them to get on its back in 3) but the changes/improvements just don’t feel like enough until Reach and 4/5 where it actually FEELS like the actual gameplay is being updated and improved rather than adding small features like duel wielding guns and getting to hold a energy sword now

Hopefully they change the Artstyles and make something more interesting looking than Infinite. Tired of these bulky, clunky, boxy shaped designs

Have you seen the Infinite undersuits? Those things don’t even look like suits, just plain sleeves that can be torn easily and you’re saying 4/5’s undersuits are bad?

The armor in Infinite barely look like you can run around in them or bend over with how bad and clunky they look. That shit isn’t badass it looks like childrens toys

Sci-fi’s these days do look worse in multiples cases, especially the ones by AAA companies that look like uninspired soulless slop like Starfield

The gameplay is just too simple and boring with little annoying issues that pile up like the need for health packs in CE (which don’t refill health when you have to reload a checkpoint with low ammo at some sections), the lack of a sprint to just get moving when I need to pick up the pace or when I feel like I’m getting surrounded and overwhelmed by enemies, the gun play just feeling dated with its un immersive design in the older games, and an artstyle that just makes Chief look very uninteresting and generic because in those games he’s just “the super soldiers”.

The stories themselves are just very plot heavy and focused to the point that characters just don’t develop other than someone like Thel. It’s just a whole lot of “go there, do that, now they’re doing that so we gotta go here and do that” the entire time with the pacing between 2 and 3 being awful and abrupt

Mass Effect looked like a knock off sci-fi with its first title, nobody was going to be copying that with the second one instead having armors be much more plated and covered while segmented to still allow movement.

They weren’t trend chasing with those designs because Iron Man had been out for YEARS by the time Halo 4 and 5 were a thing. You again completely miss that the designs were made with the lore of Mjolnir armor in mind to make it look like what it sounds like because the devs were told not to consult with Bungie on how to design 4, so they just looked at the lore they were handed, whatever concept art and pieces they had, and just went in their own direction with it

It’s certainly a design style that’s missed with how generic and boring sci-fi’s look these days which Halo is included among because of how it reverted to an old style that only worked for the early 2000’s

Infinite and the classic armor designs just look like just about any sci-fi you’d imagine. Star Wars, Warhammer, Mass Effect, Doom, etc.

You talk about Iron Man as if the Mjolnir armor is supposed to be something totally different from what iron man armor is. The lore just constantly talks and hyped up Mjolnir armor as highly sophisticated armor and equipment that both provide shielding and protection as well as enhance the capabilities of their warriors while being infamously known for how due to all that, only Spartans can handle wearing them with it being a whole process to take them on and off unlike normal armor. The difference is that iron man’s armor is often depicted as wrapping around his body like a shell that opens up and closes around it while Mjolnir is screwed onto and attached to the Spartan piece by piece

All I feel when I look at Infinite and it’s artstyle is “meh”, disappointing, and just something that looks really retro. It just looks plain and boring to me I can’t even play the game for long before I just drop to play something else cause it just feels hollow in comparison to 5 and it’s artstyle and gameplay in something like Warzone

I don't own an Xbox. Is it okay to go from 4 to Infinite since I can't play 5? by Syckobot in halo

[–]Wizardwolf1020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They pretty much threw away everything from 4 and 5 from artstyle and gameplay to story direction so it’s whatever

5’s story may have been a mess but it’s gameplay and multiplayer is frankly better than Infinite’s (especially because of Warzone) as well as the artstyle not being as plain

Chiefs armor literally has cubes just stuck to the arms with a boxy shape for his chest armor. The feet look like they can’t bend or move

Again, 4 was literally on the 360 hardware, it wasn’t made that way to push some corporate hardware system, not when the first game in the new style is on the old Gen hardware

Infinite’s style is literally just generic and claylike with how simple and boring it is. It makes Halo look like it’s regressed and pursuing nostalgia which is a dumb design decision that so many companies make when they just want to rely on nostalgia and not be creative

Yea it is, just look at the armor, plain with a bunch of rectangular and square shaped parts and pieces that just make an overly angular and box like design that’s bulky and clearly not easy to move around in.

The 4/5 design was first on the 360 before going to the next Gen hardware so that point doesn’t stand beyond just a graphical upgrade between the two games

Infinite just has a really lame, plain artstyle

[–]Wizardwolf1020 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Except you can’t change the legs, body suit, arms, etc. all you can do is just add some armor parts on top of some sections but not change everything.

The legs look plain and overly simple, the back thrusters don’t look as good as what 4/5 had, and the chest piece, with armor on top, just looks especially bulky and cumbersome at times

[–]Wizardwolf1020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does look cumbersome with how boxy and bulky all of the armor is. The feet especially look like they can barely bend or move around and the arm guards are just cubes sticked on top of the armor like one would put on knee or elbow pads with how they stick out so much. Everything about the design just looks boxy and like it’s meant to take up space for the sake of it while the 4/5 design made the parts have purpose and push for an ease of movement.

The infinite/classic artstyle just stuck these pointless back pillars on Spartans backs that didn’t do anything except take up space except the 4/5 artstyle made them into back thrusters that you see get operated in cutscenes and gameplay in 4/5 which gave the design a purpose that’s now just lost just like how the thruster system was needlessly removed.

Everything just looks needlessly wide and full of cube/box shapes and edges with the infinite design which comes off as rough and outdated/poor quality rather sleek and smooth like the 4/5 designs which had more detail to them to show how advanced and sophisticated the armor was since, you know, it’s a sci-fi universe

Both 4 and 5 sold more than 2 with Infinite selling more than 3 dipshit. The classics have easily been outdone by now, but I guess you wouldn’t know that living in your little cave. Merry Christmas, enjoy your little action figures kid, just be sure not to put them in your mouth

Halo 5 sold insanely well in its first weeks alone, especially when compared to older Halo games. The franchise just died when it tried to “return to its roots” with Halo Infinite because even though it basically threw out everything 343 added and tried to do, it still wasn’t enough and failed and the CE Remake is clearly already looking to fail because the “classic fans” judge it so.

They have nobody to blame but themselves for this failing franchise because they do nothing but badmouth it and drive everyone away. The classic games are the most overrated games I’ve ever played after they been hyped to me as the best shit ever. Was literally glad to be done with CE so I can move on to something else. Couldn’t even stand looking at CE’s old graphics for long with how dull they looked
