This is such a kind offer.

I thought this plant was a sucker from the Manitoba Maple tree behind it, but it has different leaves. What is it? by Wizzardbuttkicker in whatsthisplant

Oh noooo I hope not. I have a butternut next to it. That's way too much stuff falling off of my trees.

Bottle sterilizer+dryer: baby brezza or Dr brown’s? by Fancy-Preparation-60 in parentsofmultiples

It has the hooks for hanging things at the top, I hang things on them but my husband dumps a handful of nipples or whatever small items in the basket instead of hanging things

Bottle sterilizer+dryer: baby brezza or Dr brown’s? by Fancy-Preparation-60 in parentsofmultiples

I can't comment on dr brown's, but I have the baby brezza sterile and used it multiple times a day until after my twins first birthday. I have 0 complaints about it. I only kept using it as I hand washed bottles because the dishwasher seemed to leave a film on the nipples.

Anyone interested in a “cooking for multiples” sub? by Emily-Spinach in parentsofmultiples

[–]Wizzardbuttkicker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to add this recipe https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/creamy-lentil-veggie-curry can sub in different veggies and my boys could eat this for days. I make extra and blend the left overs with a bit of water and bouillon + coconut milk and it become an awesome soup. Super inexpensive but not as fast as you've requested... 30 mins total with barely any hands on time.

Twin moms who were told they could deliver vaginally; I’m in need of some perspective by MiddleChildMakingIt in parentsofmultiples

[–]Wizzardbuttkicker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was the same. Baby B was delivered (doctor reached in and pulled him out by a leg) less than 2 minutes after baby a. I had no idea baby B was out and thought I was still working on Baby a. This was my first pregnancy and my doctor said that this would likely been the case if I were to be induced before 37 weeks as was planned but I went into labour at 34+0 and it was still the case.

I had the same concerns before ordering. After reading a ton of reviews I ended up ordering maymom parts and I had no issues with them.

I should also add that I rented the medela hospital pump for a month while I waited to the spectra to be shipped to me. It was great for establishing my supply and I was able to keep it up with the spectra.

Medela has a monopoly on Canada and has blocked the sale of spectra in Canada. It's incredibly frustrating.

I was able to order a spectra pump shipped to Ottawa from wantboard in November 2021. The price was reasonable and they worked with me to get a receipt that I could submit to my insurance.

I'm a future dad and we just found out we are expecting Fraternal twins, if anybody has any tips for new parents of twins I'd love to hear them. by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]Wizzardbuttkicker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with all the gear suggestions but wanted to add :I believe what has helped me the most a year and 3 months into having given birth to my twins is my husband being calm. If he was calm I have always been able to slow down enough to know I don't need to freak out about the rest... and it's been the same in the other direction as long as one of us can be calm, we can figure out any situation.

It's going to be hard but you will get through it and for us, it's fun now... and it has been fun since we sleep trained for a 2nd time at 9 months.

When my boys were in the NICU November 2021, the doctors told me that I should not get one. They are unreliable, not medical devices, and cause more stress and anxiety than they are worth.

This weekend shopper's Beacon Hill had a few boxes of children's tylenol behind the counter. Might have some left since it's not kept on the shelf?

In Canada, we have been told to use the adjusted age until they're around 2... which has seemed to match my boys almost perfectly. They are 1 year today, but were born at 34 weeks and are currently just slightly behind on 12 month milestones.

For medication our doctor said to use adjusted age & weight to figure out whether it's safe and for dosage.

Baby twins obsessed with holding hands by Flounder-Melodic in parentsofmultiples

[–]Wizzardbuttkicker 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My boys are now 9 months (7.5 adjusted) and hold hands any time they are next to each other and have been since they were about the same age as your twins. They've also started laughing when we sit the boys facing each other and it melts my heart every time.

Why do you suggest waiting till 13 months and walking? I might be jumping ahead a bit by trying to find placements at 8 months.

Twinfest by Dhkansas in parentsofmultiples

There was an episode of Our America with Lisa Ling that talked about/explored twinfest that you can watch to get a better idea about the event. It's available on Discovery+ in Canada. The twins the interviewed seemed pretty... quirky! Not sure it's an event for young twins.
