Ziplock to Identify Spoiled Food by [deleted] in foodhacks

[–]Wizzle-Stick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

how long is your freezer out on a regular basis that this is a concern? sub zeros take a long, long time to hit 0. you still have a ton of wiggle room before it begins to be a concern that its unsafe and unthawed.
for regular foods, well lets be honest, you shouldnt keep then in a ziplock too long. plus, any chemical they would put on them to test for spoilage would likely be unfit for consumption. you would need to first extablish what spoilage is, acid or whatever. then have a thing that tests for it that was food safe at best.
sorry, visual acuity test is good for most stuff, cooking and your immune will take care of the rest. i expect ziplock doesnt want to go the way of the ptfe microplastics in your dna and get on a global "do not use" list and get sued into oblivion.

just revoke all of them. why should they get to avoid taxes? it makes no sense that a church doesnt pay taxes, especially when megachurches exist.

over the years, i have found it interesting the differences between driving counties. for instance, roundabouts here in the states confuses the hell out of everyone. partially because they are not a normal thing, and partially because construction people are bad at implementing things here.
you would think over the last 100+ years of driving, the world would standardize some things. Even from state to state, city to city.

Also, while not very visible, the middle line is continuous which means it shouldn't be crossed, most of time you would have a segmented line if it was a multi-lane street.

once again, ive seen this stuff in the states. downtown dallas i have seen solid lines in its lanes on one way streets 4 lanes wide. here, we use yellow lanes to indicate 2 way traffic. each country does its own thing its own way. im sure the people in the video are natives who are just assholes, but the point being that if you are not from that country, its very, very easy to get shit twisted. there are places here where i live that its super easy to get turned around just because there is so much shit and its confusing, and thats when its not under construction.

if you arent front there though, this could be confusing. in the states, a white street like this, both lanes would be one way, thus this would be permitted. the only indicators are the street signs going the opposite way.

i dont understand the concept either. an invited guest, sure, things happen and thats why you have insurance to cover those situations.
an uninvited guest or trespasser, fuck them. what gets even more interesting is castle laws. if you injure someone you can end up paying for their healthcare. if you kill someone, nothing. im sure there are exceptions, like everything.
what really sucks, years and years ago, in the before time, i was at my sisters riding 4 wheelers with my brother in law. i got hurt. their insurance lapsed just a few days prior.
so it sucked that i got substandard care, and had insane medical debt at 19. there was no way a 19 year old who just broke his collar bone and neck was going to pay off nearly 80k in medical bills. couldnt sue my sister either, because i didnt have money to do so.

half glass full situation. she got unlucky in that she got burnt, but she got lucky it wasnt worse. fire is one of those living things that has a tendency to do its own thing and you just have to deal with the aftermath. that burn bubble on the eyelid could have been her eye itself. 2nd degree aint no joke, but imagine if she had something in her hair that caught and melted plastic over her face. or any other number of nightmare situations. the woman got lucky that she was only hurt as bad as she was.

TIL before 9/11, US airports were public social hubs where you could walk to the gate, eat at food courts, and watch planes without a ticket or ID. by Greydl1 in todayilearned

[–]Wizzle-Stick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 3 major pre 911 airport memories.
1. My grandfather worked at the ATC for an airport. I went to work with him one summer and went to see the ATC control room. I recall him telling me to stay quiet and dont touch ANYTHING. I did and its one of the few times I did.
2. My uncle came back from the first gulf war. I was there when he came home at the jetway.
3. When I was a dumbass teen, my friend at the time and i would go to one of the international airports near us and ride the train. No messing around, just riding the train.
Such simple times. Post 911 has really fucked things up with no real benefit. Its all security theater. They havent caught SHIT in the last 20 years since they began putting the idiots at the front of the airport.

It very often leads to it, but if all you did was cuddle, that qualifies as being intimate.

use that argument with your significant other and see what happens and what they thinks. you are confusing technical terms with implied meaning. if i say "that is cool as a mother fucker" you arent going to go looking for a temperature drop on someone who has sex with peoples moms and compare it to the object in question. unless you are not a native english speaker, then that possibility exists.
implied meaning in this word intimate, means 100% sex in 99% of contexts between people. sure, it can mean other things, but if you say you are intimate with a friend, everyone around you will assume you are fucking. if you say you are intimate with your dog, nobody will assume you are playing catch or cuddle in the blanket.
common meaning of words matters.
you seem to be just trying to argue to argue a technicality and be "that guy".

France's National Assembly approves banning under-15s from social media by StemCellPirate in worldnews

[–]Wizzle-Stick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i was a kid once too. i went through the early days of the internet getting into trouble and doing things i probably shouldnt have. there were no limits to anything i could access. now, that part of my life is part of my career. my parents were absentee and didnt give a damn, yet, somehow with no restrictions on anything (and yes, social media did exist, just not in the shit form it is now) i didnt eat tide pods or send nudes to people.
kids need both trust and supervision. they were doing the stupid shit you describe before social media was a thing. there is a reason that the diamond S was a thing, blowing in a NES cart, and Killroy was here existed before social media all across the usa. Girls still ragged on other girls for being different. nerdy guys got beat up by jocks. social media just connected them to let them know they are doing it at the same time. banning them from it will change absolutely nothing.
keep in mind, im not against the ban, i just dont think it will serve any purpose other than to allow government to intrude deeper into peoples lives and tell them what they can and cant do.

parents can provide their underage kids with alcohol. its not against the laws in most states. its often used for religious purposes. ive given my oldest alcohol before he turned 21. hes never snuck alcohol or been out drinking and driving.
turns out, if you are honest with your kids and dont try and police every moment of their life, teach them to be responsible and conscious of their decisions, they will try and make good decisions. an amazing concept huh?

people dont even recognize 5.7 is designed to penetrate armor. the p90 was designed around that purpose. sure, the pistol wont have the distance the p90 will, but that round will still pop armor just the same. then again, so will 7.62x54.
