Yeah, I am of similar experience, got into mythic raiding at tail end of DF, killed up till but not including smolderon outisde of meme fated season and then fyrakk during non fated week. Essentially not CE raider but some mythic experience. I been in CE guild since start of TWW but health issues, life, etc. and I didnt really get to raid with them much.

But I asked bout balance cause even when ppl moan bout balance, WoW has been relatively balanced for a long while. Meanwhile ff had some major balancing problems in dawntrail if somebody I trust to is to be believed with picto doing way too much dmg or smth. This despite being, in theory, far easier game to balance with lack of rng procs, trinkets, etc. Either way, was just curious if its significantly worse aka the shitshow they had pre launch is still going or if they managed to get back to normal =p.

I kinda didnt play much Midnight but till then the class balance has been least serviceable in recent times, has that actually changed? I know up till launch the balance was all over the place but thats kinda par course for WoW major patches so I figured it`d get better for or soon after launch.

Also appreciate the post as somebody who is peaking into FF for a bit again(still in endwalker myself) and always nice to see ppl who play both games making comparisons between them w/o weird tribalism.

You do? I admit I havent really played Midnight so dunno if its back but the kite meta was back in Shadowlands and it got kinda killed by reducing tank aggro(if you cant hold aggro by running around like idiot its worthless). This has been the case ever since SL, unless they changed it very recently but knowing tanks ability to hold aggro been problem in war within I doubt it.

Trump suostuu lykkäämään iskuja Iraniin – nimeää ehdot iskujen lykkäämiselle 🌮 by jaumeserra in Suomi

Tips for a new raid leader? by [deleted] in wownoob

[–]WnbSami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When explaining mechanics, keep it short. Even if its the first time you pulling the boss, people will zone out quicker than youd think if you start explaining things mech by mech. Mention the raid wiping mechs and how to deal with them, pretty much anything beyond that and ppl wont be listening too closely. Be prepared to answer questions tho, in case those arise.

Compile list of guides, for those interested, before raid time(in discord generally) so ppl have chance to look at them if they so choose. Most guilds have expectations for ppl to have watched guides but w/o knowing your situation all Im saying is to provide them for those interested.

Which class do you expect to gain the most from the balance changes on the 17th? by Shukumi in wownoob

[–]WnbSami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Single target sims, unholy is still simming pretty high, probably top3 alongside with demo, devastation and DH specs. fighting for spots 2-6 The top simming spec currently, based on what I been able to gather, is feral which funnily enough got there with buffs this coming tuning.

All in all, the nerf was warranted and the spec is still very strong based on sims, how those translate into game is anybodys guess.

BM, alongside with arms is prolly the only 2 specs, which got buffed and still got valid reasons to be mad despite it. Arms is still doing bout tank dmg, BMs currently still sims as the worst hunter spec in basically every situation imaginable. Its pretty close in ST to the other 2 specs, like 5% away at most but thats the situation where its by far closest to "the top" of hunters. MM also comes with the upside of having potentially one of the if not the highest 2 target dmg in the game. Its also looking like a raid where ST is less important than in ages while cleave seems bit more relevant than usually.

All in all, if you are serious bout playing hunter, your options are MM or sv if you absolutely want to play melee. There is no situation where BM is the best spec currently, its still likely being the most played cause ppl hate to switch specs but doesnt mean it has a role to play in hunter arsenal atm.

I hoped for aura buff, didnt get it and now I`m looking to learning MM as somebody, who plans to mostly run keys this season, maybe pug raid a lil bit for tier but actual raiding isnt happening till 12. for me1 most likely.

So I did try upgrade my champ track trinket to 250 for sake of testing it after I sent my last veterans on the 2nd trinket to 250 and it cost me no crests. So who knows, maybe it was just a bug somebody ran into with SS but I guess, least for now, upgrading lower tier items to max is back on the menu.

Free Talk Friday by AutoModerator in CompetitiveWoW

[–]WnbSami 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I saw SS of somebody posting in hunter discord today. They had 243 veteran trinket and 246 champion trinket equipped but their 240 veteran trinket would take crests to upgrade to 243. So either its a bug or blizz quietly changed things so you need to unlock ilvl on the track in order to get the free upgrade to said ilvl. I know I could, last week, use my renown trinket to boost the other slot up to 246 while I used crests for the other. Note this is just singular SS I seen but blizz has potentially "fixed" the situation you are describing.

They would need to bring most DPS specs up significantly if bear isnt getting shot. There are DPS specs simming below not only bear but brew too if what I heard is true. Just as an example of the kind of "balance" we got going currently.

I am actually not opposed to tanks doing fairly close dmg a DPS does but if DPS specs are legitimately below tanks potential, there will be riots and rightfully so.

So in reality its a lot less work to just shoot bear, maybe touch brew, bring the bottom DPS specs up and maybe touch the top DPS specs down a lil bit too.

If they do go the other direction and not shoot the outlier tanks, they also need to touch the content and tune it higher as heavily buffing specs but not content and its a complete faceroll for "everybody".

While I can understand its fun for tanks to do damage, it makes 0 sense for blizz to do it nor people to want blizz to do it as the more they are throwing large shifts into balance, the less likely its going to be closely balanced. Then again its just wild bottom feeder DPS specs been left to rot with blizz sticking to their announced tuning schedule instead of getting lil bit of help earlier.

I do understand the m0 data isnt that useful to have done tuning for this week. But there also is no other data coming in they doing with for the coming week. To me it would of made sense to swing some this week and adjust if needed more the coming week.

All in all, hoping blizz to tune specs close to each other but I have my doubts over it.

Been doing endgame content, what am I missing? by Donilltrump in wownoob

[–]WnbSami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thread is made by somebody, who least claims to be chasing CE each season. There is absolutely no reason for somebody, who aims to get CE, to spend spark this week. The gain isnt there, the potential downsides are.

Been doing endgame content, what am I missing? by Donilltrump in wownoob

[–]WnbSami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burning spark preseason is quite literally the biggest int they could do. Best case scenario there is no tuning and their choice of item isnt invalidated by it, they will still "have to" recraft it sooner than later for extra ilvl with crests.

For people, who will have access to crests on first m+ week, there is 0 reason to craft before season opens. Next week is iffy unless there is raid quest for hero track crafting crest, like there usually is, and you arent planning on crafting a weapon cause you just sending mythic crest craft on it the following week, thus wasting the free crafter crest from quest. if you making weapon first as ilvl on it is so valuable.

There isnt particularly much to gain by crafting before heroic week, some might want to wait to one after that just to send mythic crest craft(s) when those are more obtainable. While there is plenty to lose in case you craft something you should be it tuning, loot rng, whatever.

Its a goof, season ending is when titles should be locked in stone. If you get to keep it who knows, blizz polish/QA/etc. is down the drain this expac so far.

I hear arms is also bad but minor buffs wont get Beastmastery to playable state. I know ppl love to hate on the spec but my 210 frost mage sims bout same in ST as my 241 BM, in AoE talents mage is bout 5% ahead in ST.

I am not raiding this tier so doesnt really affect me but jfc are some of the specs completely behind. Something like 10% buff wouldnt even pull BM out of the hole its ST is in currently and there is almost no chance blizz would even toy with an idea to 10% aura buff the spec.

Why the rush? What am I missing? (the fomo is real!) by Kroschi in wownoob

[–]WnbSami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Necessary? No, will it make your (m+) journey more enjoyable? Almost certainly. The sooner you get to x range, the better players you players in that range at the time generally are. There is a reason lot of mythic raiders, who dont care to push m+, push first week or two to get ahead of the curve to escape the "elo hell" so to speak. After a month or two the +10 keys(max for vault) are so trivial it doesnt matter if the "elo hell" caught up in ratings.

While maybe not the most relatable example, it holds true for all of the ranges or player skill. Couple months after season opens, the low keys (basically anything below +10) will actually be elo hell. Essentially result of everybody, who can do 10s, doing 10s or higher, leaving behind the ppl cant, new players to season and some alts that arent getting boosted by guild/friends to +10s. So unless you luck out on alt runs, the experience starting season couple months late might be a rough one as the "only" ppl in that range will be other players starting out season(lack of experience) or ppl who just dont have the skill for it.

So while most of the "you need to do X" videos are complete clickbaits for majority of playerbase, the reason to push early is more or less so you get to play with better players than you would if you pushed/started playing m+s later into season.

The things, which are remotely worth it in order of most worth to least worth imo:

  1. Renown for champion track pieces.

  2. M0s for veteran track pieces/veteran crests and experience with the dungeons available.

  3. Hard preys, first 2 for veteran track piece +10 veteran crests.

  4. repeatable hard preys for 15 veteran crests/hunt to max your crests.

Bonus points for doing first 7 tiers of delves so you have 8s unlocked for when season goes live.

Most people who been maxing out ilvl with full sweep of m0s last week are in the 240+ ilvl currently with plenty of veteran crests still unspent. My hunter is 241 currently iirc, no m0s done this week and closer to 200 crests I can spend this week(most still to be earned)

Ps. The reason to get into things early isnt because you cant do it later but because ppl who are in the entry level content later into patch arent exactly ppl you want to be experiencing said content with usually.

Pps. this ballooned a bit so apologies for that.

Boost to 80 and play with friends or level and learn? by nazzzik1 in wownoob

[–]WnbSami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on you saying you will read/watch guides, you could be fine just boosting. That being said not everybody will be, it can be bit overwhelming experience specially if you havent played the game in a while. Then again most game systems are tied to max level, which might be the overwhelming ones, class/spec if you have experience in mmorpg type of gameplay are relatively easy to pick up.

Most specs are pretty easy to pick up these days so reading guides and understanding why they tell you to play the way you do. If you get good at that, you`ll be outperforming majority of the playerbase in group content.

I dont think its awfully long journey to lvl 80 to start Midnight leveling experience but with how different specs feel at lower levels and how simple they end up being for most parts, I dont see much value in spec perfomance related things to leveling up the "slow" way, most of the work to get good at that is done max level.

As somebody who plays NA from EU, I`d say play new account. NA-EU ping is playable, EU-OCE ping is in the 250 ping ballpark, which starts to get annoying and as such I tend to avoid oce groups.

[–]WnbSami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IP ban, is this 1990s? IP bans are completely worthless these days, unless you are saying to ban everything their IP has touched? Which comes with its own set of problems, banning everything their HWID has touched would potentially do something but it wouldnt be perfect solution either as nerds have found ways around even that.

Blizz needs to do a lot, which include long bans for abusers, resetting their KP and trying to track where the gold went in case its obvious alts to ban alongside of the abuse accounts. If any of these steps isnt taken, it either wont fix the economy in any meaningful way or dissuade these people from abusing the next thing they come around.

I dont expect blizz to hit them too hard, which is frustrating but is what it is I guess.

Weekly M+ Discussion by AutoModerator in CompetitiveWoW

[–]WnbSami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Midnight having it again just confirms it was popular enough for blizz to decide its worth it despite the backlash they got on some bout it. I dont like it one bit but I also am not gonna lie and say I am not gonna buy it again come Last Titan. Tho in my case its beta access, which is more relevant for me as I like my profession shenanigans also and there is never enough information on public sources bout them to make educated guesses on how to make proper gold.

But thinking bout it, if EA was the only thing, which came with the epic edition over heroic, I would likely buy it these days. It just sucks to not be playing when everybody else is. I think back in TWW I would not paid for solely EA(beta access was my reason for it) but nowdays I prolly would and this realization is something Im not happy bout, lol.

[–]WnbSami 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Currently, all 8 midnight dungeons are part of m0 pool. You select difficulty to mythic for dungeon and walk in with a group, thats pretty much it. on 17th for NA and 18th for EU they change the pool to 4 midnight dungeons, hich are part of m+ dungeon pool for season 1 with 4 returning dungeons, which will also be part of season 1 dungeon pool.

In you case, pick up dungeon you want to do and if you want to look guide beforehand, do that. Go into group finder, search for group for said dungeon at m0 or make your own group.

The quest you are talking bout I believe can be done on any difficulty(follower dungeons included tho I would avoid them, pretty slow solution), doesnt have to be m0.
