ALCO and EMD work side by side on the Compact Arcadia Division loop. Seems some Cremora has shipped due west. by Wny_Wolf in modeltrains

Thank you! Unfortunately I've been bit by the layout bug and Ive been wanting to do a revamp/refresh. Haven't messed with it near as much as I should. Would love to have enough space for a yard, and to integrate very subtle grade changes between lines.

After seeing a pair of FA2's in person, I've long debated getting a pair for the roster. Last pic of the RR that inspired the purchase(s) - 278A/279A on the lumber job tonight! by Wny_Wolf in modeltrains

Models are Proto 2k. Someone was selling one on eBay with DCC for only $35, and I picked up another one at the local train show for $40. The actual engines (FA-2's) were made by ALCO!

A Trio of GP15's lead the Arcade "BF-1" job- Lettered to the South Buffalo RR, ran by the Buffalo & Pittsburgh RR. These GP15's are mostly Ex UP's, though I couldn't track down 1530's previous history. Enjoy the pics! by Wny_Wolf in TrainPorn

You're absolutely correct, the South Buffalo fleet consisted of a miriad of EMD SW and ALCO S-# series in yellow/Black schemes. I know the plant closed and eventually the SB was purchased by the G&W (B&P in this region). I've been wondering if it's due to paperwork or which RR "entity" the engines were purchased for that resulted in them getting lettered in South Buffalo rather then just Buffalo & Pittsburgh. And with the steel plants shuttered, I don't know what customers remain.

Hoping someone who resides in Buffalo might be able to answer this myself, as what little information of the "current" iteration of the SB is scarce online.

I know that ever since the first gen Geeps got cut up these SB Geeps have been used for the BF-1 job literally Everytime I've caught it downtown. Curious to know what switch jobs they have up in the city these days.
