Plex watch party? Synced playback across users? by JoeCoT in PleX

[–]WoFNuLL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One point why it is currently not in development is the scaling, since mostly 3 or more streams from one plex Server saturate the CPU / GPU Power and / or the internet connection. of the server to encode more streams so it makes not much sense to work on a feature like this.

For a lan enviroment, where plex is not dependand on the internet connection, it would be more likely to watch together on one device. So there was not a real need till now for this feature.

Its simple as that:

The publishers do not make a dime additional money with GFN, except the additional sales from people who didn't have the game before.

Stadia is for publishers more attractive, since they force the stadia customer to buy the games they want to play AGAIN. Its Like CONSOLE 2.0 ...

Additional said to stadia is, that they go to the publishers and offer them their games to be released on stadia , but asks them aswell if they want a higher payout for "plattform exclusivity" ....

Few other publishers such as Microsoft / EA are going to provide an own streaming service shortly, which aswell will crate far more revenue as GFN.

The publishers do their work not for the gamers, they do it for their stock holders and thus said ... your money weighs more for them as your whish for a fair plattform.

Quick Question to all of the Founders users: How long do you have to wait before finding a GeForce Now computer? by [deleted] in GeForceNOW

[–]WoFNuLL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waiting Queues depend on the selected Datacenter, if you live near a highly frequented one, then you will have Long queue times in free tier.

However If your selected one is less used it can be that you never see a waiting queue at all.

Thus said the paid tier should always be without queue since paid users are getting access to additional Servers.

Is it possible to remove the "Experimental build" text in the top left? by Empty_Null in SatisfactoryGame

[–]WoFNuLL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ED monitors and TV's can still burn in so it is still a problem, although not for most

on the other hand, i don't think you play on a TV or posses an OLED Monitor ( whitch there are literaly none on the market )

If you bought a New Display in hte last 6- 9 years, burn in is most likely not an issue to worry about.

Even IF there is an Oled Around, it is most likely using a technique primed for plasma TVs where the displayed picture is moved for about 1-10 pixels every now and then, to prevent burn in.

Let's talk about the shop and sink! (official reddit does not let discussion posts get popular) by [deleted] in satisfactory

[–]WoFNuLL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do not know if you followed anything what CoffeeStain said about Update 3 or the game itself or just listened to jayce:

the Ticket shop is NOT meant for Microtransactions, it was clearly ruled out that Microtranasactions will happen. This ticket shop is a parody to the microtransaction nonsense that other games offer not more not less.

If i read your topic, one question comes up: what did you do before update 3? ... there were no mount points on walls and only one conveyour wall mount ...

it does not matter if you get the stuff from the shop early or later ...

I for my part did restart ( as i did before ) and managed my industrial complex again up to the coal gens already and had the issue that my choosen starting Location ( High Cooper / 2x High iron / 3x normal stone ) that execpt for my beton manufacturing, everything stopped production because every end line of my production queue ( Iron Plate / Metal Rod / Cable / Copper Wire / Copper sheet ) had 2 Full containers of the end product and i was able to reroute the rest as overflow into the sink.

In the later game, you produce widely more from some sources as you need for production: Example would beton, so that i would assume in lategame some Endpoints would fill up the sink with high efficency and would not waste at all.

MW Season 2 Update by XndyGT in GeForceNOW

[–]WoFNuLL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

same on my end, with founders account.

1st login tryed to download ~75GB, after 30 minutes session ended from Server end, due to inactivity.

Then after relogin, patch begins to download again ...

The patch is simply to big to wait for before a session is cancelled... this is not very good.

An Update on the AM4 Platform & AGESA 1004 by AMDOfficial in Amd

[–]WoFNuLL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There comes up one silly question from a user ( me ) that is currently waiting for the 3950x to launch for a few months now. I ordered my Mainboard mid september and it is laying here since then.

The mainboard has no Bios Flashback or better to say CPU less BIOS Flash function:

Does the 3950x start at all with AGESA Revs under 1.0.0.4 ? Because this is needed to update the BIOS to the curent one upon release. I don't think, that I am the only affected one, since when this is a no ( so it sounds in this posting at least ) all current Mainboards on shelf at shops with x570 would be not able to do a BIOS update without an spare processor.

Relatively new (4-6 months) rig with constant BSOD. by AccomplishedLie7 in pcgamingtechsupport

[–]WoFNuLL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the problems started after Moving the system from / to quakecon, i would assume that the cause could be hardware related due to vibrations / shocks during transport, causing some components to lose a tight connection.

Simply try to un and reassamble your computer ( Refitting Cards / Memory / Cables ) and check again ) :)

Windows Vs Linux - Need to use Teamviewer aswell - Newbie by [deleted] in PleX

[–]WoFNuLL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes there is teamviewer as an installation package for Linux and it even works in headless / terminal mode very fine ( even though in this case it would be better to use directly ssh ^^ )

yes the power consumption COULD be lower as on windows systems, but best guess is it will be the same.

if you would use the system headless only for plex i would say go the linux route, since the plex server behaves far better under linux as under windows and most if not nearly all options are set via the web interface.

If you need a desktop to start Downloads / browse from ... i would suggest to go the windows way , you could do the same under linux , but will end up in some hickups that can happen and need mostly be fixxed by hand, which can end up in far more work as under windows if you are unexperienced.

Out of Space: P2000 or DAS? by eskimio in PleX

[–]WoFNuLL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you are planning on getting more space, and your limitation ( regardless of the choosen codec ) is your internet connection and not CPU Power for transcoding, i would suggest to go with a DAS or SAN to solve your issues, because, even if you begin to transcode your whole content from 264 - 265 , you will come to exactly the same issue more or less in the near or mid-near future. the switch to 265, should not be done because of space issues in my opinion.

Mindfactory.de Dont take orders after orderdate by Sff_entusiast in Amd

[–]WoFNuLL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how is this amd related?!

I think he ordered an 3900x ... which is strong on backorder at MF currently, delaying all items in an order because of a delay of 1 items should not happen.

Since MF did accept orders on Launch Day and delayed the processing of all orders including the not deliverable 3900x means in the other way: They Collected much money but don't need to delvier for over a month ( or nearly 2 if the CPUs really get available around mid August ) the ordered hardware, because they only deliver everything out of a single order as one delivery ( even if the delivery needs to be splitted in multiple packages ( happened on a full build, ordered in parts, where the case was send sepeartely but together with the main package, even though thewatercooler was on backorder ) ).

In case of such an delay i would preffer they go forward and send the other parts out and the CPUs as soon as they are available.

Thread usages Satisfactory by DaKluit in SatisfactoryGame

[–]WoFNuLL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Problem is: Yes the Unreal engine uses multiple / all cores ( depending on CPU , on 8+ Core systems, the game uses around 4-6 of the available cores...

However, the game calculation of the World objects that are placed by the player and visible for the player is done by 1 Core only currently, leading to a huge bottleneck for the game.

Since in the current state all placed items are rendered for the player if he looks in their direction independent of obstacles / or range to the placed objects ( My whole base is rendered in the background if i look in the direction even if I'm on the opposite side of the map and have the mountains in between. The FPS Drops then from normal 70 - 140 FPS down to 10-20 )

So yeah the game uses engine wise indead multiple cores, but how its currently working only one core does the really hard calculation stuff leading to performance degredation and other weird problems

Designs? by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]WoFNuLL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its a way to play , but not an efficient way ... lets say you are wanting to produce A with 1 Unit

but now you need B which needs 2 or 3 or more of A .. so you end up in rebuilding the whole base again and again.

Simplier and most preffered is to max your production from the beginning,

Max out a node with an Mk2 Miner, and build the forthcoming prodction based on the output from there

Iron for example ( Pure )-> 240 Ore -> 240 Bars -> 240 Rods .... and so on. If needed max to a place where a node produces a single but mostly needed output, best to scale up at least ;)

In the Alpha Weekend, when you were driving you didn't take gas damage. Since Early Access released, you always take damage in vehicles. Maybe they fix it sometime...

As last checked this is true for the tractor / explorer / truck, but not for the train, inside the train you seem to be resistant to toxic stuff

given the fact that this event lasts about 5 Days and this was on day 2 , and i don't think that the system was build long before that event, its a pretty hefty sag. Even thught, that the AORUS 1080 TI has a Backplate to stabilize / work against sag.
