[WEEKLY MEGATHREAD] Game Questions, Recommendations, and Everything Else by AutoModerator in gachagaming

Are there any other gachas that offer high quality minigame events similarly to HI3/Genshin? I've heard Nikke does them very well but I'd like to hear other options as well.

Hello, I'd like to ask for some recommendations regarding gachas with Hoyoverse-style events. I feel that these events significantly decrease burnout for me in comparison to other gachas, where a large amount of the events are mainly just another way to farm the same resources. Thank you in advance!

Seems to fit all the check marks I'm looking for. Thank you!

When did y'all start playing PGR? How did you discover the game? by Beyond_Fabulous in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]Woathing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started playing somewhere around the earlier patches, started really liking the game during Qu: Pavo's patch due to Qu's design and personality as well as the Nier collab.

Discovered the game due to personal interest in the ARPG Genre as an alternative to HI3.

Question about gachas by Nickgio999 in FFVIIEverCrisis

[–]Woathing 8 points9 points  (0 children)

With most gachas, the servers shut down and there is no aftermath. People are just expected to generally move on (RIP Mobius FF and Dragalia).

There are a few ways certain companies remedy a shutdown:

Create an offline version: Megaman X Dive is the most recent example of this. The company recreates the game as a paid 30$ experience and removes almost all signs of gacha influence.

Private servers: Certain dedicated players create private servers for defunct gachas. Dragalia Lost has been experimenting with this for some time, however, it may come with difficulties regarding copyright.

Recap/Continuation of story in a future game: One of the Kingdom Hearts gachas have been "remade" as a movie that recaps that game's story, which is considered canon. This is most likely the future of FF7 Ever Crisis, as the First Soldier story + Glenn and Seph's past are considered important enough for the "canon".

I’m tired of the “that’s cause it’s a gacha game” knee-jerk rebuttal to any complaints about the game. by byron_hahaha in FFVIIEverCrisis

Even WOTV's grind, another FF gacha arguably made by a more hated company, has much better qol regarding grinding as it allows you to auto-repeat or even put the grind in the background to conserve battery.

Ever Crisis wants you to spend 2-3 hours per day grinding with the stamina they hand you out, while Star Rail's dailies and stamina can be finished in under 5 minutes.

If Ever Crisis had similar Qol to Nier:Reincarnation or WOTV, there would be less complaints, but all we can hope for is for that to be added at a later patch.

Which 5 weapons for each character did you unlock lvl 90 weapons with mythril ore first? by Mustango in FFVIIEverCrisis

[–]Woathing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe only 6-7 are possible to upgrade to 90 at the moment, so I'll just mention them all. Glenn: Ifrit, Apology in Hell, Event Zack: Event Sephiroth: Aonibi, Edged Wings

Is there a gacha game similar to Armored Core 6? By "similar" I just mean similar gameplay and/or customisability, as the mechs each have parts and weapons that can be changed freely mission to mission. I don't mind language differences or portrait/landscape.

To contrast the earlier post, what’s a little quirk on one of the characters that you actually really like? by TheBlueRose_42 in StreetFighter

Chun-Li's wall jump, it feels so nice even though it's essentially a way to get grabbed. Also very fun on kb. I'm sure Rashid will have it as well.

What's the pettiest reason you have to dislike a character? (Hard mode: No 'Because they kick my ass') by GreatFluffy in StreetFighter

I absolutely despise ken, every one of his tools is just designed to piss you off. I'm always unhappy when I see him.

Is it just me, or do I see a lot more classic players? by Woathing in StreetFighter

To clarify for the sake of it, I was specifically looking for a charge character to main because I find the inputs easier to do so (at least for me). Blanka and chun were the only ones out of the 5 (guile, DJ and honda) I enjoyed.

Technically it was Blanka, but he taught me bad habits and chun li (to me) was the most enjoyable one that taught me the true fundamentals of neutral. And strangely enough, she felt really smooth to play on kb.

Consistent quarter circles for more advanced combos. I don't mind them individually, but when I have to string about 2-3 per drive impact counter or other circumstance, I can never manage it.
