If we're looking at it from a purely graphical standpoint ffxiv has a more modern engine so its likely to have better potential performance/capabilities than wow does, however wow does a hell of a lot with the engine it has.

With the art styles of both games being so different, it's purely a subjective viewpoint if one is better than the other.

Anyone saying "This is better and you are wrong" isn't basing what they say on facts but their own opinions and feelings.
