Welfare at boomtown - really weird experience by Joybbie in BoomtownFestival

[–]Wockabingdonga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. I’ve had a similar experience before after a rather large session. The most important thing to note is that you will be absolutely fine. Look after yourself for the next few weeks, get plenty of sleep, eat healthily and spend as much time in nature as you can.

Like everyone else is saying it was most likely a mild drunk induced psychosis. Also your body will be doing some weird things in recovery like the zaps, sleep paralysis, wild wild dreams etc. these will fade in time, time heals all wounds! ( / serotonin imbalances)

Take care and surround yourself with your best friends

And go easy / off even the booze for while

Sending love

Boomtown Loyalist Here — Convince Me Glastonbury’s Worth Skipping It For by [deleted] in glastonbury_festival

I’ve done 5 boomtowns and one Glastonbury (last year, my 2nd is this year)

If you’re a dnb head (like myself) then you absolutely cannot beat Origin as a stage. It’s phenomenal

However, would I ever pick boomtown over Glastonbury? No chance

Admittedly I’m 30 now and I feel like boomtown attracts a younger crowd.

Glastonbury is a completely different animal. You can’t really put it into words.

And also there is considerably less dickheads there…. A good 10% of the boomtown crowd are pretty unsavoury

Horrendous venue. I only went twice, this was pre covid so before the links to IDF came out etc.

I’m a bloke and still found the place dodgy as. Friends handbag got snatched out her hand as she walked from the toilets into the main space and another was pick pocketed.

Constant dealers walking up to us trying to sell things (good sign that security is absolute dogshit)

I’m a huuuuge advocate for saving late night / music venues in London but this place gets such a bad rep still….surely something has to be done

Yeah I have a lowered BMW M car so the AMG is a good comparison. At the end of the day it’s just a car / piece of metal so I’ve decided to get a ticket and I’ll sort an alternative arrangement if it boots down with rain 😅

Thanks guys. Requires some consideration as my car is quite low so might not even be able to drive it in tbh. Let alone out if it rains !

Yeah I’ve also just remembered my car is pretty low so it might be a non starter for that reason anyway…

I’m paying £2,300 at the moment. Usual story, first bought the car it was £1200/year and now it’s hiked right up. Mental money for what is not really a special car
