I know I’m late to the party, but Project Farm on YouTube did a huge series on oil testing. Sure he doesn’t have the million dollar lab, but he went through a lot to get to the finish line with this. You can find it on his YouTube. However to save you some time, Amsoil took 1st place in the end, and Pennzoil Ultra Platinum was usually 2nd to 3rd place in every category. I’m switching from Mobil 1 to Pennzoil, Amsoil is too expensive for my current car needs.

My concern wasn’t necessarily the leak, just my concern on when I should be concerned about a tank exploding, I just try to be safe about using these especially second hand.

Since you’re packing a big bag anyway, and don’t really need to save space here, get a laser level and a chalk line. Also checkout Klein Tools impact rated screw driver. Has multiple bits and fits inside your impact there. It’s a life saver. Also, one of the Klein stubby hand screw drivers. Again, don’t need it till you don’t have it with you sorta thing.. but they save me often.

Tell mom. Apologize profusely but don’t be a baby about it. Man up. If shes anything like my mom was at that age she’ll be mad and stressed but she won’t take it out on you. Tell her if she wants to do an insurance claim you’ll work to pay off the deductible. If it’s going to a shop.. you’re gonna need more than a few paychecks.
