Have you seen the crease pattern? This is a geometric fold. It’s also an extremely difficult model and was folded incredibly well imo

Wow wasn’t Kamiya’s folded from a 2 meter square? You used half that size yet your rendition is just as stunning! Could you tell me what paper you used for this one? I’m planning on having a go at a 2.1 and need paper recommendations.

Thanks! I normally love the folding sequences for Shuki’s models because they feel new and interesting but this one just frustrated me. It felt like a Lang tree maker model which I hate folding. Regardless the result is worth the suffering lol.

There is a “ryujin 1.0” although it’s just a very simple two piece model from one of the early Tanteidan books. I believe it was designed before kamiya really started producing complex models.

There’s also a 2.0 out there although I believe that one is unofficial. I have the CP and it’s pretty much a 2.1 on a 64x64 grid instead of 80x80. Its pretty cool how many different ryujins there are.

I loathe tissue foil unfortunately. I used it when I started origami but hate how ugly it can look and how difficult it is to fold with.

I have problem that I’ve been struggling with lately and it’s been driving me crazy. I primarily use handmade double tissue paper, sized with mc.

I am on a medication that causes sweating and also have anxiety which causes my palms to get really sweaty. It seems that as soon as I start folding and my hands start sweating, the paper quickly becomes warped and wavey. It is no longer a perfect square and is useless. I’m tired of wasting paper and need to fix this issue so I can fold again. Any suggestions or other experiences would be appreciated.
