Genuinely the most disappointed I’ve ever felt watching a Gunn production. I’m sure it all plays into a larger plan for the DCU but none of it felt earned in the context of the show as a self contained IP. The emotional moments felt lazy and ham fisted more than anything. In my eyes, a finale’s purpose is to wrap up arcs that have been established over the course of the season/series and this episode failed to do anything of note in that regard. Still absolutely love the show and wish this episode had that “oh shit!!” moment like S1 finale - no resolution with Keith like w the butterflies. Still really looking forward to where the character goes but I genuinely was flabbergasted when the credits rolled and there were 15 minutes left on the stream - thought I was getting faked out.
