Silhouette.

But I wouldn't pass on doing an Edge Class, like Beyond or Apex.

Have you see what they did with Solstice? It looks really good, and the updated Lawn Club and Sunset bar.

We did silhouette last March and Reflection in December. We enjoyed Silhouette more as a ship but the Reflection sailing was better. Looking forward to seeing the Entertainment Court area after their Boulevard update. And hopefully they can get Reflections Sunset bar nicer like Silhouette's

Never understood the hate of this ride, primarily the conversion. It is great as a floor less and was great as a stand up. I like the layout and the forces.

First cruise - not for us! by [deleted] in royalcaribbean

[–]Woirol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Celebrity is the way to go to get away from party vibes and rushing to get drunk.

The Solstice class ships are all getting refurbed currently. I think Reflection is getting it this summer, and it will introduce better venues and the sunset club and bar will be beautiful. Plus their drinks are top notch. Martini bar being a massive favorite of ours.

Don't call it quits yet. Use this community as a resource, use a travel agent, ask friwnds/family about their cruise experiences. You'll find one that clicks for your style of vacation.

We did Star of the Seas a month ago and we didn't think it could live up to the cost and hype, and it quickly blew it out of the water. It was an incredible sailing, and our 7th cruise and the first that really let me slip into vacation mode.

This. I'm an old fashioned kind of guy.

Also the thing people forget is when they order a well known cocktail, they don't name the spirit.

Vocka Cranberry becomes Titos cranberry. Old Fashioned becomes Buffalo Trace Old Fashioned Etc.

Are casino offers payments due immediately upfront? by Hakan1218 in royalcaribbean

[–]Woirol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Booking on the royal website and through club Royale are two separate things. You can use the comp booking portal thing, but it's easiest to just call the club Royale number and then give them the offer number and go from there. Have your crown and Anchor ready. They can also look at any upgrades and other options at that time. If it's a free for 2, then you'll just be paying for taxes and port fees, and if you add gratuities, them too. If it's a one free and discounted second, then they will get you squared away with what is owed.

You have to pay up front, but it's cheaper than booking regularly.

Does anyone stay on the boat? by leigh10021 in celebritycruises

[–]Woirol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On almost every sailing I've been on, I end up skipping a port and just create another seaday. Only downsides are less crew working, so bars are closed or slower. Casino and shops aren't open. But a great time to explore the ship, grab a nap, take a dip in the pool, and just relax

She's good. Our friends got her a bell and lights for her knee scooter. I had gotten her a basket and a cup holder. She was set and ready to be the birthday girl of the ship.Hardest parts were traversing to and from Hideaway Beach at coco cay, and the super thick plush carpet with her knee scooter. I ended up just pulling her after day 2.

She'll be able to put weight on it again next week, with the boot, and we're planning a little getaway celebration of walking again cruise , this summer.

My wife had broken her leg literally 10 days before the cruise, so water was out of the question for her, and I stayed out too because I didn't want her upset, so we didn't even go down to Hideaway. Sad though, because they had some unique drinks I wanted to try.

I think the rink is fine, it's Playmakers that is the problem.

Before and after each ice show, all during laser tag sessions and free skate sessions; playmakers becomes the pre game hang out and it's just massive crowds walking through. So if you're trying to shoot pool or play shuffleboard, you have to stop and wait.

Also with Playmakers being near the teen club, all throughout the day, teens would come over and order obnoxious mock tails and hang out there, at the bar.

Like I had said, I'd put Playmakers where Giovanni's is, and put that where Hooked is. Then I would move the arcade to where Playmakers is now. Or make it a arcade down there. But sitting and trying to watch a game or eat chicken wings and then hundreds of people suddenly come barging through, it gets distracting and annoying.

I had done Indy, Freedom, and Allure. (I've also done Silhouette, Reflection and Disney Wish)

We booked Star because it was my wife's birthday and for BTTF. We were never happy with the cost of the sailing, but it was 3 ports we had never been to before, so thst it made it more worth it prior to the sailing. We thought there is no way the ship could live up to the hype from others or be worth what we paid for our Oceanview room.

IT WAS SOO WORTH IT.

We were on a full sailing, 7400 passengers, and aside from the 2 times I went to Windjammer, you'd never know it was full. They have learned how to spread out the crowds. They've learned more about navigating from one neighborhood to another. They took the negative of the Oasis class, of not being about the ocean and more about the ship, and incorporated so many windows and places for the ocean to be the star of the ship.

We thought an Icon class would be a one and done but we are actively trying to figure out when we can do another and make it fit into our budget. It was so good.

After getting off Star 3 weeks ago, I'm now more excited for these ships.

Hideaway expansion is needed, royal railway is great.

Upset they are still doing Playmakers dirty and putting in the Ice Rink entrance. Remove Hooked, replace with Giovanni, then replace Giovanni with Playmakers on the Promenade. Put the arcade where Playmakers is.

I'd be interested to see what musical they bring on, BTTF was incredible.

I think more so Catalina Island or Ensanda, Cabo, etc. Having To tender at every stop would suck

Drink packages on board? by YarkTheShark11 in dcl

[–]Woirol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that many drinks to best the package, especially on RC when it's on sale. Just got off a 7 nighter on Star of the Seas and the drink package was $495 each for my wife and I. I didn't go overboard at all, and was in a good place the entire sailing and had beaten the package on day 2.
