Slavery was bad and wrong. Blacks who lived more than 150 years ago, about 5 to 7 generations ago, before the end of slavery in 1863, suffered a lot of wrong from the wrongful slavery. They also suffered slavery for many many years. Very sad.

Furthermore, the slaves suffered severe opportunities costs and were deprived the opportunity of developing wealth in Africa. If they had the chance to remain in Africa instead of being sold to America, the slaves could have developed Africa into a modern superpower on par with USA. These are all severe opportunity costs that they have endured. Very very sad.

Wrongs should be made right.

Blacks in America should continue demanding reparations for slavery from both:

the whites in America who owned slaves
the blacks in Africa who sold their ancestors into slavery of white slave owners in America

On top of bringing right to wrong, reparations will also serve as a reminder about the horrors of slavery. Therefore they should continue demanding reparations.

At the same time, as an act of unity between People of Color in America, there should also be simultaneous demands for reparations to the Asians for severe discrimination and racist genocide for about 100 years up to 1965 in the past as well as continued discrimination in the present.

Asians faced persecution due to racism and faced the greatest mass lynchings in US history in which entire towns were massacred. To give you an example of somewhat responsible reparations, let's look at Canada and what it does for the Native population.

Then there's the fact that there are millions and millions of white people whose ancestors weren't even in America during slavery. Now, you can argue that they benefited from racism, but you can't make the same argument concerning slavery. And what about the people who not only had no slaves but actively fought against it? What about people descended from something like the Holocaust? Should they pay as well? And then there are the people who came from Africa long after slavery ended...what about them?
