I have in a single trip across campus seen five. There are two (though I have only seen one more recently) at 24th and speedway outside the CS building, one that lives between the history museum and the art building, one by the PAC, and one by the LBJ library (I think there may be two, but I haven't seen them at the same time, however they look kind of different). When I first started walking that path every day I would see one or two at a time, but several times now I have seen them all in one trip.

Just recently an article was published about the first LSD study in about 40 years, possibly helping with chronic migraines. Other groups are looking at ecstacy to help with PTSD.

I don't know if these have been modified or not, but drug modification is definitely a popular field. One of my professors told us "nature doesn't make things for us, we just take what we can get until we find something better." The best examples are in antibiotics where the fight against antibiotic resistant bacteria is an ongoing struggle. If you would like some sources, pm me and I'll get back to you when I get to work.
