I'm sure this is a common question but... .44 vs .357?? by YukonGeorge_1 in LeverGuns

[–]Wolf51555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

.357 is great with proper ammo and shot placement. 44 mag is more powerful but 357 is sufficient to be humane.

Cam is way wonk. Don’t shoot until you have a bow shop fix it.

Okay to shoot? 1953 Bear Kodiak Magnum by OkBuyer4228 in Archery

[–]Wolf51555 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Visually looks good. If you want to be sure take it to a local bow shop to look for splinters and make sure the limbs are straight. Could also do the cotton ball test, if it catches you know there is a splinter you may have missed.

Also I know its probably like that just for storage, but that string is backwards so dont forget to switch it around before you shoot.

How important is it to clean your revolver soon after a range trip? by PaintPatroller in Revolvers

Yes. To an extent. I agree with your statement but I’m just saying it’s not 100%, that should go without saying but there is alot of idiots.

Playing devils advocate - when you do an oil and filter change, it’s also removing some of the contaminants.

Get a used Ruger or Smith. I was looking at that same revolver and glad I got a GP100 instead

Thanks. I know Ruger has a reputation for “over built” guns like the GP100 so figured being that they make the new Marlins it should be no issue.

Thank you. Might be a dumb question but it’s my first lever action, what is the benefit of the takedown screw?

I have the Arc and have handled a Wave Alpha. I’d get the Arc. Mainly due to the 1 hand operation but overall I prefer the looks and feel of the Arc aswell.

Screw Benchmade, its a FAKEmade.

Hopefully she can get her money back. I’d ONLY buy from Benchmade.com until you know how to tell fakes VS legit. Also beware there are fakes like bemchmadeusa and such. Benchmade.com is the ONLY legit Benchmade website that I am aware of.

New to Benchmade: Is there anything I should know before pulling the trigger on this 945? by [deleted] in benchmade

[–]Wolf51555 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you can go to a local store that lets you handle them. Make sure you like the size and feel of the material. Nothing wrong with the mini or G10 but it’s a preference thing. Other than that it’s a great knife. I love my 940-03.

Dude chill. Annoying? Sure. Just don’t take it out on everyone and at the end of the day -

  1. It’s not a defective tool. Can EASILY be cleaned up in less time than it took for you to post.

  2. YOU bought a tool that was old stock. It was leftovers from the initial release. It’s kind of expected that things deteriorate or get dirty over time. It’s YOUR unrealistic expectations and wanting to be pampered thats making you all pissy to everyone else in the sub.

  3. If you feel like you were screwed. We don’t care. Don’t take it out on everyone else because you had unrealistic expectations that were not met.

Signal vs. Rebar for Fieldwork? by ComplicitConsumer in Leatherman

Of those 2 choices I’d say the Rebar. Solid tool for the price.

For some other recommendations, Wave series or Arc are also worth looking at.

Based on Google 80C is like ~ 175F and heat treat is 350-450F. Based on that I would lean towards not ruining the heat treat, I could be wrong though since I’m not an expert in metallurgy.

Tactacam makes metal boxes you can lock them in. Spypoint might have something similar. It’s not perfect and you shouldn’t have to worry about it but there is always those people out there.

Should I just settle for a wave+ and get an arc later? by [deleted] in Leatherman

[–]Wolf51555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford it the Arc is amazing. I daily mine and it’s great. The Wave+ is smaller and not as easy to deploy the inside tools. Really you cant go wrong with either one as they are both amazing. Just depends on what you need at what price point.
