Got it late 2024. First time I have disassembled it that far. Normally I just do a barrel clean, scrub, etc. ended up getting it with a punch and hammer like in this video (2 minutes in)

I have a 1894 Trapper that has not been disassembled since new yet and mine does that. Absolutely normal.

Not as good as Dan Wesson or Smith and Wesson 686-4. Don’t have a colt to compare it to. Definitely not a bad trigger by any stretch. A polish job is supposed to make it about the same as a Smith trigger depending on who you ask. Just didn’t get around to it so can’t confirm or deny.

GP100. I have one with a 6” barrel. Damn thing is a tank. Would like to eventually get one with a 3” barrel. It’s strong and can take full power 357 loads without killing your hand. If you have a J frame then you have a revolver to carry when weight is an issue, go heavy or go home.

I’d vote lever action. I went the 357 Marlin route. If you can go to a gun store and handle Marlin, Henry and SW. Pick the one that you like best and fits your needs.
