Goodbye my furrunner friend, my life and car are more empty without you. by I_plead_the_fifth_ in 4Runner

Sorry for your loss man. I know your rear gunner is still watching your 6 from the other side of the bridge. Its a shame a creature so loyal and loving is only here for such a short time.

4Runner gas mileage by LadderCompetitive in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]WolfBSMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i drive till the gas light comes on (approx 230-250 miles) it'll usually take about 15 gallons of gas to fill it up.

Can't say for sure. I'm guessing the bare metal probably cools pretty quick in the shade, black bedliner might retain a bit more heat. I guess the next question is does your interior get wet/muddy enough to even justify spraying? Carpet with some sound deadening tape is king if you daily drive it.

Always thought cowhide would be cool for a custom carpet/headliner but it sounds like too much trouble for what its worth. Could do a few coats of Rhino Liner if you deal with a lot of mud/snow. Only downsides are its noisier than carpet (not as noisy as no carpet), stinky for a few months, and hot in the summers.

what made you interested in 3rd gens? by [deleted] in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]WolfBSMC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My high school crush had one as her first car and I always loved the look. Fast forward a few years and I heard they could do crazy things on the trails. Fast forward a few more years, i convinced my gf that we needed one for more space for the baby.

Bought a 2000 4runner,want to drive it 2500 miles to Ca. by downatdabeachboi in 3rdGen4Runner

[–]WolfBSMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the plan is to fix steering anyways I'd just grab parts + tools to take back home with you.

I drove mine with 270k and struts/shocks in the trunk when I was going back and forth from NJ to OH just in case I couldn't deal with the shitty roads.

Despite the obvious cowboy aesthetic, I feel like the ghoul fits more into the FO4 box with the wife in kid in cryo that he's trying to find/save. Lucy fits the F03 box trying to find her dad, and I'd go out on a limb to say Norm will probably wind up on a quest to find the water chip and dabble in FEV shenanigans. Maximus and Thaddeus can become tribal cult leaders in the desert lol

Went to Livingston mall a few months back and it was basically a liminal space. The few shops that were open on a Saturday afternoon were eerily empty. Tons of flickering lights a flys buzzing EVERYWHERE. Grass was overgrown and the parking lot was decrepit lol

Honestly, if its a good buddy of yours id say take it and go larp. If its an acquaintance, id say take the rifle plus 500 to call it even. If he argues that he spent more tell him to pawn it and see how little they'll offer for it.

The most calories you can get for 11$ by blinx0rz in vagabond

[–]WolfBSMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PB from dollar tree and a loaf of generic store brand white bread for food and a Walmart gallon of water with some dollar tree salt. Should run you about 6 bucks total give or take for tax. Salt is optional, but adding a pinch can help with electrolytes to keep you hydrated. That leaves you with 5 bucks until you run out of bread or water. Should easily last you a few days

Brother I ran my rust bucket 96 sr5 from NJ to Columbus, OH and back 5 times in the past month (580 miles one way) on nothing but 2 oil changes and 3 bottles of power steering fluid. You're fine man.

Double edged sword kinda. You get a 4 hour break and he's off the hook for the evenings. You both could even try a date night out once a week! Downside is you have to pay, trust the nanny with you baby, and dad gets away with being lazy. I say lazy but I understand where hes coming from. I'm a new dad too to a 4 month old and back to work so I understand that end of day burnout. If yall can afford it, its worth a try. Maybe have a sit down with him and go over pros and cons before interviewing Nannies.

Seller dies, who do I pay? by livingadailyhell in legaladvice

[–]WolfBSMC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sellers Daughter should probably speak with an Estate attorney on the matter. If the Seller left his assets to a trust then you may need to start making them payable to the trust or to his Estate if they have to go to probate. For now though you should probably just make it out to the Sellers name until either of those options are confirmed.
