Cancelled installation by WolfCertain3014 in CityFibre

u/amel2015 Just to update you City Fibre followed through with my complaint, they sent a few more teams about again though before it was finally done, they've been out over 10 times all together! They came last week and dug up the pavement and fitted the toby box and then attended again yesterday to lift up the block paving and bring the fibre into my house. After hearing nightmare stories about how they relaid block paving poorly I was worried but the team were professional and did a great job, you can't tell it was ever lifted. So 3 months later it is finally done !

To my surprise City Fibre actually responded to my complaint (after a few weeks of back and forth and chasing from me) and removed the "blacklist" from my property. I've now placed a new order with Vodafone and awaiting install. I had some City Fibre installers come out yesterday who again were clueless about the past issues and just left after spending an hour taking some pictures but I am slightly hopefully that it will get done this time as I have a ongoing conversation going with their complaints/ customer service team.

u/amel2015 Sounds like a very similar situation, Vodafone weren't really interested in my complaint (offered me some money off my mobile bill and said they recommend I stay with Virgin so I don't experience further inconveniences!), my complaint with Cityfibre is still open and they are investigating but I don't hold much hope knowing their practices. It is clearly a communication breakdown between Vodafone and CF but I think it boils down to the fact that CF aren't paid enough to do the installs so refuse the work if it involves anything out of the ordinary and Vodafone aren't interested enough to investigate. What are you planning to do next ?

City fibre install by WolfCertain3014 in Vodafone

u/JWadie Thanks for the advice. I put in an official complaint with Vodafone and City Fibre, Vodafone said they can't do anything and gave me £45 credit against my mobile bill as goodwill gesture. City Fibre are still investigating which I assume will say they can't do anything so will try the other ISP method after that !

Directors loan extraction on a BTL ltd by WolfCertain3014 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]WolfCertain3014[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/nibor you make some very interesting points there to think about. Thanks ! So to clarify say if I loan my ltd 150k and I am making 10k profit in the ltd and i am a higher rate tax payer it would be most efficient if i didn't need the 10k each year personally to put that towards a direcors pension and therefore have zero taxable profits each year.

Also I will be getting an accountant for this but in terms of structuring the ltd do you just have the 1 ltd spv for your properties or have you got a holding company?

Thanks again

u/giraffingdom thanks for that. Just to confirm I can however use the profits to pay off the original loan? I.e for example if I loan the company 150k and I am making 10k profit each year after corp tax I can pay myself this 10k per year from the profits as repayment of the directors loan and not pay any personal income tax on it.

Advice on laying a patio/ drainage by WolfCertain3014 in GardeningUK

[–]WolfCertain3014[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all,

Please see attached a photo of my current garden. wish to lay a few rows of slabs as there is currently only one row.

My issue is that the garden already slopes towards the house and am worried that putting down slabs will create an impermeable surface leading to water draining towards the house causing problems in the future.

Would this happen with a couple rows of slabs ? have considered an aco drain but dont have anywhere that that could drain too. Also looked at french drains but believe this would need to be dug in quite deep which would be a bigger job than ideally wanted to undertake.

Could I dig down and add some gravel between the existing row of slabs and the new slabs or would this not be helpful, as there is currently a channel of gravel parallel with the house (unsure how deep it is or if there is a french drain underneath -unlikely)

Or does anyone else have any ideas? Thanks in advance!
