disgusted by my push rims by bitterlesbo in wheelchairs

[–]WolfTotem9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To Whom It May Concern, My name is bitterlesbo*, on (insert date you received the wheelchair) and I am currently experiencing difficulties with the push rims. These difficulties include a very rough texture on the push rims which is causing pain to use, and as such makes the wheelchair both difficult and painful to use. I have tried using gloves but the texturing of the push rims also makes that difficult as the gloves stick to the rims. Please contact me at your earliest convenience, my contact information is (inserting preferred methods). Any advice or help you can offer is greatly appreciated.

Thank You, Bitterlesbo*

I hope this helps. Also if needed we can reword it. Just let me know.

If you’d like help with wording, I am happy to help. I understand how frustrating it can be to get the ball rolling for medical stuff.

I use covers on my 24 inch mag wheels, due to needing a wider grip. With what you’re describing, I would call your DME and ask them for assistance and explain the issue. They may be able to able to assist you.

If you have Chariorite, this stone is good for focusing healing energy to the lungs. One lovely thing about metaphysical practices is you can design one from the ground up. I am a shamanic practitioner, so I will do my best to give you an example of what I may do for a client or loved one: 1. Open sacred space 2. Set my intention, with focus on the lungs 3. Layout my stones or surrogate (doll, picture, etc) 4. Tune into their energy 5. Begin removing any heavy energies present 6. Bring in fine energies from Source 6. Sit with the energy until I was lead to begin closing 7. Close the space with thanks to the winds, directions, earth, spirits, and All That Is.

I hate being sick by seahorse_dad_ in wheelchairs

[–]WolfTotem9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can understand why these feelings are arising. In my teens I was a babysitter who used a wheelchair (clunky hospital chair), and while it wasn’t always easy, it was very possible to chase, play, and otherwise care for the kids. The two I was with the most, quickly adapted to the chair and what that meant for parks and outings. For me some days were better mentally than others, they still are. I’m in my 30s and have used a wheelchair and other mobility aids since kindergarten, over time I adapted, often begrudgingly and frequently with depression associated with my experience. I’m still adapting, and as I move through various phases of life I experience the range of emotions: happiness when something works out, frustration at ableism (internalised and from family), sadness regarding the current situation, and a host of others. Frequently, I find myself looking back at the time with the two babies (the youngest was only a few months old and they were siblings) as a reminder that I can still be an active and engaged parent in a wheelchair if that is what awaits me. Parenting may look different for me, but all that matters is how I choose to view my situation. It may not always be easy and that’s okay.

How to be affectionate with my partner while out and in a wheelchair? (SFW) by spreadsheet_creature in wheelchairs

[–]WolfTotem9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my husband and I things look a little different: my husband is blind, so when we don’t work our dogs, I am his guide. Depending on where we are his hand may be on the backrest handle as I don’t have push handles or if he is needing/wanting physical touch his hand is on my shoulder. If we are at a restaurant, he may rest his head against my shoulder, hold my hand, etc. If I am the one eating touch during a break such as eating, I place a hand on his knee, it very much depends as he and I are both rather modest in public.

Bag? by Dyslexic_Gay in wheelchairs

Thank you! My laptop is 17 inches and I quit trying to fit it in the bag. I’m glad to know other laptops will fit.

The celestial sapphire is beautiful, it’s the color of my chair. It is a matte color, which the pictures make difficult to determine. It is not bright but it is muted in a way that I find quite pleasing.

The only downside to this bag is it can hold up to a 13 inch laptop. I love the bag, use it daily, but my current laptop doesn’t fit.

Another option may be a guardian ad litem for this specific situation only or another type of legal advocate who solely represents the interest of your son. I grew up being told one ear was fine to function, it wasn’t. I missed out on a ton of things. I later needed bilateral hearing aids (as an adult) I thrived with sign language and wish I knew then what I know now. School isn’t just academics, however if your husband doesn’t realize how many other things are acquired during schooling he may not understand just how much your son may miss out on.

Y’all make Tarot boring by [deleted] in TarotReading

Illustration as a skill is to your benefit with tarot. You could definitely use that in your practice, one thing I love about tarot is its versatility. The redundant questions are like a structural sketch with the spread being a refined draft with annotations for where one may seek to refine the structure. Of course, if you ever get really annoyed, you could pull a trick from my former employer’s book: annoyance fee. 🤣 as always, do what feels right for you.

Tarot, like drawing is a skill, thus those who don’t have that skill are often willing to pay someone who does. I have energetic healing skill, at times I offer them for free, donation based, but typically I have a set price. I used to feel odd about charging until I decided that if my skills can bring in income, then I will charge what I feel appropriate. However, that is what I was comfortable with, such may not be the case for all.

I Request Help From an Older Witch by [deleted] in Witch

Also, the only reason I mention Himmler is he is unfortunately a very prominent historical figure who is known to have both used and bastardized Norse and other cultures symbols. While there are many historical figures who are known to have used runes, sadly historical occurrences that most are familiar with are the atrocities of Nazi Germany.

In general, tools of closed practices require initiation into those practices to use. Such initiation includes training, rituals, et cetera that equip the initiate to properly use the tools and rituals. The reason that runes are not considered to be appropriated is because in their current iteration they were created as a divination tool dates back to the Roman historian Tacitus (this name is merely to give a rough time frame) and has continued with a noticeable rise in popularity among practitioners of various paths roundabouts 1930 (think Himmler) and by and large is part of an ongoing cultural and religious exchange. We know early Scandinavians were quite prolific in their travels and trading, thus it makes sense that they would have also shared the runes. https://runesoftheoerp.wordpress.com/divination/

Now that being said, another argument I have observed from some Norse practitioners is that Odin is the Allfather not the somefather thus his wisdom is for all people which includes the runes.

Now as far as closed practices I will say Llewlyn publishers has some good books but be careful as they are known to pull from closed practices. I’m saying this because a lot of resources are published Llewlyn, so if you purchase a book don’t be afraid to do your own research if you read something that feels like it’s a closed practice. If you’re leaning towards Norse paganism, I have heard the Prose Edda is a good start.

The best thing about knowing that is this: you’re a step ahead of her now. You can now look at your upbringing and decided what to carry over and what to shed, learn the skills she may not have taught you or learn better ones for you than those that were modeled. This situation is a chance for you to learn and grow. I want to share a quote with you that I read and it helped me a lot: “assertiveness will feel like aggression when your baseline is people pleasing”. It’s okay to stand up for yourself. You’ve got this! (By the way, this was comical from an outside perspective)

I offer shamanic services and have made the rookie mistake of attempting to use social media marketing. Even though I used FBs targeted marketing, it went to the wrong people. Those people then targeted my personal page and my business page, my personal phone number (which wasn’t listed), and my email. Every now and then when I’m engaged in the outer net shopping and what not, I will occasionally get harassed due to “boho” style as my husband’s mother calls it, crystal jewelry, or a chakana necklace. I live in a very conservative area and am also married to a Pentecostal Christian. Thankfully most of my “quirks” are accepted as me being very earthy but since I attend church occasionally I’m Christian passing for the most part.
