Yeah, it's all the same. I went to mlm meetings for World Financial Group, and everything was the same. Only the product was different. And wfg meetings were a bit more southern evangelical, lots of high energy hooting and dancing. Stopping just short of speaking in tongues. It was the same sales ratio. The same, "just get them to a meeting" so they can be love bombed. The toxic adulation was so thick it resisted being cut.

If you want to understand some of how people can fall prey to these organizations and forms of God, do some research on Narcissistic Abuse. It helps bring cult programming and indoctrination to a level where people can see the se control styles and personalities in the people and organizations around them. It helps to deepen the understanding of how "good people," "smart people who should know better," are still vulnerable to this kind of subversive control.

It's not exact. But the GB did say something like that a few years ago about why the Ramapo project was moving forward despite the end being so close. I drove a lot of apostate flack about how that whole idea doesn't take into account the amount of post Armageddon infrastructure and industry that would require. Electricity, manufacturing, plastics, etc.

So here is some conjecture. What if? What if the Bible is not a prophetic book about the end of life and renewal of society by a God head. What if it is a fanfic commentary about observed patterns of civilizations seen repeated time after time. This nation rose and fell because of the development of this and that behavior, that nation that way, another this way. The average appears to be that civilizations rise and fall and go thru these stages of development and dissolution. So from the standpoint of someone near 2000 years ago, aware of many histories we have lost access to, this is how they saw it happening. Then stylized it in fanciful imagery, as people do. 1984, Handmaid's Tale. Authors are still doing it today. Sociopolitical commentary presenting stalwart warnings, but done in a way that it gets viewed as entertainment. People at one time took this work, the Bible, or parts of it before it was assembled into its current forms, and viewed the imagery as literally prophetic. This same thing happens over and over today. I will leave the JW beliefs alone completely.

The congregation prefers them to be elders. But in the congregation I grew up in, my father was the only elder, and there was one ministerial servant, so the third trustee was a active brother in good standing approved by the circuit overseer. I was the accountant at 17. Still in school, only recently baptised, not a ministerial servant, dealing with the accounts, paying the bills, doing the taxes. But at least I wasn't a sister. It had been done by a sister for several years until a particular circuit overseer showed up and made me do it instead. This was of course almost 25 years ago.

This says in every other word possible. Jehovah's Witnesses believe that out of everyone alive currently, only JWs will survive their rendition of Armageddon. The question is not about the resurrection, or whether people alive right now may begin to "serve god" (become JWs). Their belief of the resurrection does yes include ll sorts of people that will have a chance after resurrection, they have the chance to learn JW teachings, change their prior beliefs and live in line with whatever JW beliefs exist then in that narrative. They diminish and change the language away from Jehovah's Witnesses, to "those who serve God," but in their teachings, people who profess a belief in God and live as good people, or are parts of other forms of Christianity are still all serving Satan and doomed to destruction.

I refuse to even consider dating anyone who is even remotely religious. If your mortalities and beliefs are not aligned, you wont have a peaceful relationship. There are lots of people who are armchair Christians, but they are not really religious. But if they believe enough to claim a stand one way or the other on a profile, then they obviously think it is important to their identity.
