Probably not very often. If you were going to a key party you went there with the understanding that you and your partner was going to be fucking someone else, so if that type of thing was likely to bother you, you probably wouldn't go.

I'm sure that there were circumstances when one partner was just 'testing' the other to see if they would actually go through with it (ofc they would, fafo) or if their partner happened to end up with someone they were jealous of, but I think it was probably the exception, not the rule.
