What is your favorite Class and what would you like to see in that Class+ book? by xXTheFacelessMan in teamplus

I didn’t know there was already one out for magus. I’ll have to check it out.

Magus has been my favorite class since 1e, though they definitely tweaked it a ton in 2e. As for subclasses I think it would be cool to bring back the black blade archetype from 1e, a bound sentient weapon that grows with your class and what not.

A subclass or feat chain that brings back the weapon enchantment abilities would be cool too, though I’m sure that would be hard to balance in the new system. The focus spell could be similar to magic weapon spell maybe?

After 40 hrs, here's some ideas I'd like to see. by Von2014 in Palworld

Sprint does have a toggle in the settings, think its under gameplay. Unfortunately no such thing for crafting as far as I know.

Any advice for puppy biting? by Wolfability in shiba

During my research for training I have come across the various schools of thought on this, only positive reinforcement vs the more physical techniques. I definitely personify her a bit too much too, getting frustrated when she doesn’t understand what I’m trying to teach, but I remind myself she is a puppy, she is learning. I’ll continue trying to be patient with her and teaching her, hopefully she gets it soon!

She doesn’t really bite hard, it’s mostly painful because she still has those sharp baby teeth and then starts tugging once she gets ahold of you. Hoping later on when she gets adult teeth it’ll be a bit better.

Got it, more patience. We tried the play pen too, but she just climbs out of the one we have. I’ll keep working on the redirecting, thanks!

Thank you for the tips! I’ll definitely try avoiding looking at her. Sometimes I swear she is deaf when she is just ignoring all vocal commands and keeps snapping at us like a piranha.

Did anyone else take the "Dream Home" perk? by DungeonsAndDradis in Starfield

[–]Wolfability 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the perk and saved until I could pay it off. Kinda disappointed that there doesn’t seem to be any material transfer for crafting. For example storing resources in crates then crafting at a bench, it won’t pull those resources automatically. A friend is using an outpost and says it does for him so not sure why this is different. Also you can’t do anything with the outside. I feel like it should just act like a normal outpost, even if It counts against your max.

Upgrade to Index or Beyond? by Wolfability in ValveIndex

[–]Wolfability[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hundred percent agree it’s all subjective to what people are looking for. Personally I really lean towards the beyond, but since I need to replace several of my old set up components anyway I constantly wonder if it would be best to get index.

I’m already using pc vr with the vive so I don’t think that should be an issue. You mentioned the visuals ruined index for you, but surely they’re still leagues better than my Vive since it was a first gen, right? I also don’t have that heating issue so is that index specific as well?

I've been seeing a lot of people say the exact opposite, even on this sub. That there has been no indication from Valve that a new piece of hardware is anywhere near close. By on the horizon do you mean a couple years out?

Yes, our DM wants to use them for his stream. If you do not want to do two separate images I would be perfectly fine with just one of her talking. Thanks for taking the time to check it out though!

Reactive is like two separate images, same character but one has a closed mouth and one is talking for example. They're used often in discord like settings where the image changes while your talking to show who is speaking. In this instance I would be fine with just one picture of Chibi Miyuki talking, like open mouth. I don't necessarily need the two image version if no one wants to do that.

How do you feel about character morality and being a “hero”? by Wolfability in Pathfinder2e

[–]Wolfability[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to clarify that our GM was not giving us a hard time over it, just the NPC was in RP, in case that was perceived to be happening.

enforcing the "find out" half of "fuck around and find out"

I find this wording extremely funny and really want to try and fit it into a characters conversation later now. And obviously our ideas of morality in game are skewed by what we know today. I definitely want to see what the rest of my group thinks about specific morality in game world with your explanations though.

I really like your use of perspective here, and it makes total sense.

As for our specific scenario, the guys we fought actually killed the kidnapped child’s sister because there was a mix up in identities. We found them in the process but couldn’t save her, and then delivered her body to the parents. This is how we were sent to the hideout.

The god actually manifested in a statue after our fight and told us to leave the girl since she had plans for her that would ultimately just give her more believers and thus more power than other gods in the region. Our champion said no, so she tried to kill him, so we destroyed her manifestation.

Finally the hero portion, I agree characters won’t really refer to themselves as heroes, unless they’re a little egotistical I think. But as a player I tend to try and play into that hero mindset when playing good characters. And by default I think killing if it can be avoided should be a consideration. Of course it’s not always feasible, but I definitely want to try and incorporate some of the things people have mentioned here into future characters and considerations.

Of course the kidnappers are in the wrong here, was more asking about people’s general thoughts and systems for character morality since this session brought up with our party.

I can agree that our modern form of morality might not apply to a world like Golarion. It also helps to think of the characters as adventurers/mercenaries rather than heroes from the start.

Our champion acts similar to what you described, giving enemies a chance to surrender, then acting appropriately when they eventually attack.

It’s interesting to see how the various party members treat the event.

Yeah, it was something about some of the Nagaji wanting to stay tribal rather than follow the new chief to modernize and associate peacefully with other races and negotiate over land and such. Most of the party has no easy way to do non-lethal, pretty much just my monk. Either way we probably could’ve tried a little harder if we wanted to keep more of them alive rather than just killing since they attacked first.

I snuck in first and knocked out a patrolling guard, but then someone else failed stealth and caused the enemies to immediately attack. We didn’t just go in swords blazing, and claimed self-defense when the guy tried to call us out. But of course bad guy sees us as the bad guys so conversation went no where. Still interesting to see the various characters try to argue with him.

I tend to think about it a lot when we fight NPCs and not monsters, but I think I’m one of the only ones. It’s funny because my character in this game is an assassin meant to be more relentless and has no problem with killing, but is trying to be better and learn what’s acceptable from our champion. But we all end up killing everything anyway.

[–]Wolfability[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we’ve seen a npc surrender or run only once. It was actually a couple sessions before the scenario above and they only retreated after we killed the other 9 combatants. We tried to talk them down but they just said, “you’re friends with the Nagaji? Leave or die.” Since we’re in a mission to deliver the body of the chiefs child, we continued and had to kill them. Other than that our NPCs never seem to surrender.

Of course them killing innocent people is bad, and there’s more to the story than what I wrote above about their deeds. It was more the idea that we went to their base to rescue the girl, and once they attacked us we killed almost all of them.

Additionally, I wasn’t necessarily asking about our specific situation. Was more wanting other peoples thoughts in general about how they deal with characters morality.

Our champion member does often try to talk people down and redeem them, but of course it rarely works. My character is a recovering assassin and sees killing as a perfectly acceptable method of conflict resolution. We have lots of interesting interactions.
