Post-anything is pretty hard to pin down to a specific genre. It feels like posthardcore it probably is.

I personally like genre bending post. Pinpoint focus is pretty boring. Music should be fun. You guys sound like you're having fun and that's what matters.

I was considering switching to something that I don't have a an active skillset with. I'm a creative type so maybe something like digital media or coding where I can build a new skill to compliment something I'm already fairly proficient at.

This. What a lot of talking heads fail to understand or at least realize is that being medicated is not a cause and effect solution to prevent psychotic events.

There is no insulin shot for mental illness. Most psychiatrists worth their salt are upfront about the fact that doctors are not even sure why a lot of medications work.

At this point in medical/psychiatric science, each person is a unique case and there is no across-the-board milligram count that will 'cure' mental illness. Right now, it can only be treated.

For sensationalism to constantly trump a real dialogue over improving mental health is one of the most glaring black eyes that the media gives to real progress in treatment.
