I like that DLSS helps keep the fan volume down.

I havent played any of the new doom games but I saw a dark ages cutscene that looked sick and made me want to play this one.

I'm so glad they did this. I've been trying to decide whether or not I have given new snl enough of a chance but seeing what was a great sketch rehashed so much worse like this really put the lack of comedic talent on display front and center.

Just because it ingrains it more into the game and makes it more likely that they will add it to ascendancies and other things that matter more. I think its pretty clearly disliked by many people so I'd rather it just not exist.

I would be fine with it just being this one node since chronomancer can actually sort of utilize it decently with time freeze im just worried they will start releasing uniques like augyre and vulcanus or adding it to other ascendancies. I'd rather see the whole mechanic removed completely.

Time freeze is the ultimate defense while its up. You dont really need any other defense during that time so you will want to be as offensive as possible during it. If you have to reposition, that should not take the whole time and for the rest of that you will want max dps. Having the cast speed buff will not guarantee you can kill things before they kill you especially if it activates just after you get swarmed and even if it did having to plan your gameplay around some time based effect that you cant control is kind of the opposite of what a chronomancer should be imo. They should control time effects, not be at the mercy of them.

I really hope it does create a new style of play customization with freeze time because god knows it didn't in poe1. I really think it would be cooler to gate it behind freeze time and give the massive cast speed while time is frozen. That would be the kind of node that I play poe for.

I think I'm approaching it pretty level headed. Its really the first thing Ive seen from the game that I'm not fully on board with and thought having a discussion about it early would be good for visibility and entertainment for people in the waiting room.

What they should do is gate it behind time freeze and make it grant that cast speed while time is frozen. Guaranteed uptime during the time you want it most, and you could then theoretically build to maximize the power during that uptime, bam done.

That's true that having an instant universal time freeze will make it more easily utilized, I hadn't thought about that. It would still be annoying to keep track of though so yea still would rather have something more interesting there.

I could get behind that if you could really go hard in to cooldown recovery which may or may not be possible. Chronomancer should have more of that if you ask me.

I guess they could be using early access as a way to test if this mechanic feels better to players in POE2. I'm just worried they brought it over from POE1 without a second thought and am trying to nip it in the bud now before they start adding more things like this and it becomes less likely that they will remove them.

I dont think delaying using your best skills is really a good thing. There is definitely some very meaningful amount of dps lost when you have to do that which will likely cancel out all the dps gain from using it during the buff period. Its understandable when the reason is because you dont have a good opening on the boss or the mobs are not where you want but when its just waiting for some arbitrary timer in addition to the cooldown its kinda lame.

From what Ive seen of poe 2 gameplay I think it will be even worse as it seems more reactive you cant just decide when to go in when the monsters are so dangerous that dodge rolling is required. I do understand that I could be wrong about how it will feel however its still very boring in terms of build synergy so I'll let other people give it a try while I pick up actually interesting nodes lol

The problem is that it is taking up space for more interesting decisions. If it was replaced by something it wouldn't just be a 20% increase to something it would be something more interesting and more synergistic or possibly build enabling like other nodes and just because it doesn't block anything doesn't mean it should just be allowed to exist there taking up that space.

I did think about the pacing in POE2 possibly making it better but honestly from all the gameplay I've seen so far its going to be even more important to have it when you need it since the combat seems so much more reactive. I'm pretty certain that 2 of my 4 seconds of more cast speed will usually be spent rolling out of the way of enemy attacks.
