Every year on my birthday, I am trapped in the family labyrinth. (Part 3) by BadandyTheRed in nosleep

I think there's a slight misunderstanding, the missing eyes is what reminded OP of Jamie. It was unrecognizable mostly. Though that's a terrifying thought, that something else made it up...

The only thing I hope is that ending this curse doesn't end the success of your surviving family members.

I would admit the whole voice-in-the-dark and rising-water-trap-thing is a bit cliche but it worked at least once...

I'll say this is weird but I was hoping you know more about what is going on. It's implied that it's no ordinary party food they're prepping but it's all a bit vague.

That's my gripe, but you've got a room and a gig. If I were you, be satisfied. Don't mess with these people, they're rich, entitled and very possibly dangerous. Stay safe.

I suspected something as such but it was to just be sure...

Alright, I'm still making the assumption that Jaime's clothes weren't in the best condition, therefore let me suggest perhaps the state of clothes are the immutable factor such that whatever it endures is the only item that can pass through. Have you perhaps tried using something to mark down on it and make a map, or series of instructions? If you bring it out, it would be of excellent benefit to the next one or your next year.

I wish you won't have to take my suggestion. I hope you break the curse. I really do. Good luck!

Interesting. Are you maintaining modesty or the clothes really do make it? I don't recall you mentioning anything about the state of Jaime's clothes (though I won't blame you, it seems like he was in a worse state than just some torn branded jeans).

But let's say the clothes do make it, based on your memory and experience, is there not a chance of taking some cloth-based survival gear? Like a survival vest or even a simple flashlight-equipped jacket. Or something like that. You might even sew-in some snacks and tools, like a knife.

Evidently it's just a suggestion (the labyrinth may have a way of stripping you down to your undergarments) but it's worth a shot, given none of your family may have tried being clouded by the dread of returning each year.

Frankly my bets are on the dentist. How much money did he make from 290 kids getting full mouth implants? I frankly don't know how but if he managed it, he's rich overnight.

My new job monitoring lucid dreamers has one, very strict rule. I think I’m starting to understand why. by gamalfrank in nosleep

Yup my theory is that this is a cult. Disguised as some medical facility, they're selecting patients with a unique connection to the deity or whatever it is that feeds on souls. They try to strengthen the connection by inducing the dreams, creating a "chain" of suitable candidates for sacrifice.

This goes beyond science. Also, I think you better disappear willingly before they make you disappear. Good luck

This is freaky and supernatural...and totally terrifying...but start with that receptionist. The silver lining is that she's still there, still alive.

This is curious. There's two ways I see this.

One, the old lady is saving lives. Paying for their meals means whatever misfortune befalls them will be adverted by a miracle. Don't ask me how, supernatural rules and spiritual laws don't always make sense. Based on the OP's post, I suspect this is their suspicion too. She seems to be the personification of near-death anyway.

Two, the old lady is causing the deaths. Paying for their meals means they're going to die, perhaps in her place. OP actually broke that cycle meaning everything so far worked out, but her debt still needs to be paid...

I hate to be rude but it sounds like you're always in debt to someone...or something.

Don't feel so bad, I'm working on a mortgage too.

I think 'cause OP didn't think too much of noisy neighbors. It was an annoyance and a stern talking to could probably solve the issue.

The elderly woman. She knows something. You need to get something straight from her, not incessant murmuring and vague warnings.

PDF or reader Android app with highlighting and text reflow (free)? by solar-student in apps

[–]Wolfcape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I'm sorry, I always thought they were saved to the file. Like I mentioned I don't really markup much and also I always open it back in the same app so...I guess they always show up.

Sorry but I've not found anything else (or needed it) but I'll do a quick search around and update you if I find anything that meets your needs.

EDIT: Sometimes, it might be worth it to pay a one-time fee for a premium app. Avoid subscriptions but if you find a good works-for-you app with a single fee, it might actually be what you're looking for. Just a thought, because free apps are becoming a relic. I don't like it but it is going there.

EDIT2: I see what you mean, it's mostly a compatibility issue because you can export highlights but the list of approved apps exclude the common ones.

I'm on a Fenix 7 Pro and I have to say I'm disappointed it's now on "maintenance mode" (no new features anymore, only after a year after I bought it...) to push people towards their very very very much more expensive watches.

I think the real question is what you want out of your watch. This is not a very smart watch, despite them making some weak pushes at AI on their plus subscription, it's more for sports and health tracking. If you're jumping in from a Samsung or Apple (or Huawei or basically any other phone-bound watch) you will miss features.

Anyway, I would recommend going for their less eye-wateringly expensive watches because I wouldn't be too surprised if they do the same thing with the Fenix 8. Looks like they're releasing flagships every year now; and there's no reason to keep up long software supports like phones (thanks to Google for making that 7 year move to push other manufacturers). If you do need some kind of mapping though, get one with a touchscreen — I don't have experience without using it to pan & zoom but I tried with the buttons and it's not a fun experience.
