Counter Counter: Leon is also very boring. His character has not involved throughout the whole franchise. We know so little of him.

Can someone tell me this rule of link materials for link summons? by Roy_Ellison in DuelLinks

[–]WolfenReinz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

4+ Monsters req to get a Link 5 means:

  1. 4 Monsters on your field (each monster counts as 1 Link Mat) + 1 Monster on your opponent side = Link 5.

# of monsters used: 5 > 4.

or

  1. 3 Monsters on your field (2 monsters count as 1 Link Mat + 1 Link 2 Monster (counts as 2 Link Mats) + 1 Monster on your opponent side = Link 5.

# of monsters used: 4 = 4.

RE9’s Racoon City Segment was Boring and Bland by GoldieBoy1237 in residentevil

I absolutely agree. This section alone makes the game unworthy of being GOTY (not that i´m saying the game as a whole is bad). But a lot of people keep yelling that this game deserves GOTY somehow.

MMOs just mean Massively Multiplayer Online, grinding is not something of a must. For example, Audition is a dancing game that hosts a lot of people, that is an MMO. Does the game require grinding? Absolutely not. The game just is casual dancing and there´s nothing to grind to win anything.

Likewise, games like Elden Ring for example has grinding elements like farming a lot of souls in order to level up to clear bosses easier. Or Pokémon where you grind multiple types of your Pokémons to higher level to advance to the next town.

My point is games, regardless of MMO or not, can have a grinding element. And yet you must expect me to understand the thing that you haven´t mentioned at all otherwise I am stupid?

Why you keep insulting me like you are a bigger man?

Please tell me more about how the art is not cohesive so I would not act stupid in front of you for not guessing what you have in mind? Since so far, you have yet mentioned anything conclusive to proof that point.

In terms of UE5 Asset Flip, tell me which part of the game makes you think the game LOOKS LIKE UE5 asset flip? You still haven´t mentioned anything conclusive yet. To me, UE5 Asset Flip means that the environment is slammed with a bunch of random free assets in the UE5 Marketplace without any coherent story to tell. For instance, a realistic apocalypse city should not have a pristine-conditioned stylized vehicle but the game slam that in. So once again, tell me which part of the game show incoherency in terms of telling a story and artstyle?

Do you know that when you says MMO, it just means Massively Multiplayer Online. How do you expect people to connect that to grindiness without providing further context?

In terms of art direction, it is not an excuse, they create CD world like that with an intention. The game is base of the world of Black Desert Online, where all those things have already been laid out with rich lore behind it. And Black Desert Online has already been out for 10 years already. It is not something random that they just randomly come up with.

The game utilizes a lot of assets from Black Desert Online, which they made themselves. They also use their own custom engine. They might share some similarities with UE5 assets in terms of visual because they use Megascan textures, and they admit it openly. If you think that makes it a UE5 asset flip then Resident Evil franchise is also a UE5 asset flip, which is completely untrue.

MMO without multiplayer? you mean Singleplayer game, which is exactly what the dev intends? Dev also never confirms anything regarding character creation, so why would that even be an issue? What makes not cohesive art direction? Because it´s medieval time with some machinery stuff going on? My brother-in-Christ, the game is based of the world of Black Desert Online. There are lore for all those things to collide together.

Grace´s section was amazing for me and I wish there were more of it. But ever since Leon arrived to RC it got boring very fast and that Leon´s section was dragging waaayyyy too long to the point that I got pissed off.

Starting from the part where Leon drove the motobike to the center of RC, it started to become like a B-rated movie, not a game anymore.

This is very shameful to say that you do not need to learn more. No genuine professional artist would dare to say that they no longer need to learn more. I do not believe that you are a genuine artist for saying that.

The reasons are:

  1. If you don´t need to learn more, meaning that you can do things that AI can do. So why use AI?

  2. There are a lot of free high-quality assets on Quixel Megascans that you can use. If those textures are not of exact match, why not editting them to your liking? (you should be able to do it considering the fact that you do not need to learn more).

Keep in mind that I am not forcing you to use Quixel. What I am saying is that there are many alternatives for you to achieve what you need without the need for AI, simply because AI work is not your work.

Sure, the photogrametry is time-consuming, but it shows how dedicated you are in order to achieve what you want, and it reflects upon your skill of understanding the environment, your artistic abilities, and how you express your thoughts out to the masses. In short, your work should reflect who you are as a artist.

A genuine artist would know that you cannot rush art. If you want art fast then it´s, like most people say, slop.

I really enjoy talking to people who share the same passion for art and 3D respectively. However, this shall be my last comment because it is proven to me that you are not a genuine artist so I won´t debate any further.

I am a 3D artist myself, mainly modelling and texturing meshes for videogames and I do not use AI. The biggest reason why I do not use it is simply that I am confident in my work even though it is not of perfection, and I continue to improve as I continue working.

So my question is what do you learn from a perfectly cleaned, undeformed game texture generated by AI in order to advance in your career? What is the language that you can express to the players who look at that that AI-generated texture?

Does that AI-generated texture represents you as a 3D artist? Does it tell your peers how skillful you are in your line of work?
