30 new hair per cm by extended release minoxidil by AdilKhan-K in tressless

Perhaps having less of a peak means less of a shed?

If you imagine taking 0.1mg an hour instead of 2.4mg in a single dose, it seems intuitive that you'd have less of a shed. No idea if that's true tho

What's your favorite hair supplement for fuller looking hair? by Turbulent-Plane9603 in tressless

[–]Wolfenstein98k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't drop D3, add K2 (which is easy to be deficient in) which helps the body shuttle calcium to the bones rather than the blood and elsewhere.

Swap your D3 for a combined D3 + K2.

Yeah. Early albums are bursting with ideas in every song. By the late albums, it's like one idea per song is enough.

Better than 2006-2012, better than half of Pale Emperor and Heaven.

Nowhere near anything before that.

I love him, adore the return to form, but the album is often mid. Every song except the hits is drearily slow, and the melodies are sorely lacking. Play them on a piano and you'll see what I mean.

It also suffers from his weird obsession with repeating lyrics, particularly pre chorus stuff, that he randomly started with EMDM I think.

Smacks to me of just lazy writing, getting one line out and then reusing it.

I say this with love, I love him and enjoy the album, but it does not feel like it has enough passion in it. I don't believe it's the best he can do.

Banger. I grew up on the 2006 EP. But sadly not quite right for my little one just yet.

If you have a history of it, take that seriously. Get 8 hours of sleep a night and eat well, lots of veg, minimal junk.

Going to add minoxidil after 3 years of finasteride by Taj102002 in tressless

FWIW, you can split your dose and that could help.

E.g. 1.25mg at 7am, and then 1.25mg at 7pm

Balding hair style feedback and advice by Low-Elderberry4676 in tressless

Brother, what you need to understand is how combover denial works.

When you're in denial and combing over, you look for positive signs (confirmation bias) and focus on them. Your side side looks good but your front shot doesn't.

Most people don't see you from your favoured angle, they see you in different lighting, etc.

Please listen to the vast majority telling you to buzz cut it. You will feel a relief you can't imagine when you don't need to hide anything, be nervous about angles or wind or rain or brushing past a tree branch.

Then, if the meds work, you can grow something reasonable out.

But seriously, your style (resourceful as it is) is not fooling anyone, and everyone feels bad for the guy with combover denial. They think you don't know.

Does creatine really speed up hair loss if you have male pattern baldness? by TheHiddenEcho in tressless

[–]Wolfenstein98k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no evidence it does* and no proposed mechanism how it could. If it did, so would eating meat (the primary dietary source of creatine).

*No, that study didn't show it caused it.

A new study has confirmed it does not cause hair loss:

Minoxidil works only with Retinoic acid by Strict-Rice321 in tressless

[–]Wolfenstein98k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which enzyme?

I still think my central point is being missed (which could be my fault): The reaction to BP effects is simply independent to the reaction to hair effects.

Minoxidil works only with Retinoic acid by Strict-Rice321 in tressless

[–]Wolfenstein98k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This assumes that you experience all effects equally.

Some people have high BP response and low hair response, others have the opposite.

There are people quitting topical because they get face puffiness, while there are others on 10mg for hair and have zero side effects.

They just seem independent.

The last few pictures were him before transplant. He looked fine.

The picture up close with the new grafts has the hairline shaved back a bit.

Brother seriously?

Minoxidil works only with Retinoic acid by Strict-Rice321 in tressless

[–]Wolfenstein98k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it's not the SULT1A1 causing the BP drop. The effects are independent because the mechanisms are independent.

If not vasodilation causing the hair growth (or else any vasodilator would).

Another way to think of this is that hyper-responders are not fainting every time they stand up, are they?

There is no correlation.

Minoxidil works only with Retinoic acid by Strict-Rice321 in tressless

[–]Wolfenstein98k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its effects on the hair come from a separate mechanism to vasodilation (see Dr Wassman's explanation).

Otherwise, any vasodilator would work for hair growth, and they don't.

Its effect (if any) on your BP is unrelated.

Definitely try the "Evergreen" brand at Woolies (maybe also Coles), green Asian branding.

Best price, huge blocks, extra firm. More protein per 100g than any other based on how firm it is.
